Simple Setup
The setup on the ThermoPro Indoor Outdoor Thermometer is absolutely foolproof. Insert the AAA batteries included with the device and presto it works. We have two INDOOR only ThermoPro thermometers but I needed to know the outside temp. This item looks exactly like the INDOOR only ThermoPro but includes a OUTSIDE sending unit back to the inside unit. Will definitely recommend this product as a simple, cost effective method for accurately measuring ambient temps, both inside and outside.

Works for Me
Sits on the desk, I look at it all the time. Easy to read, simple to use. I can see what the temperature is inside the area I monitor and inside the area where ThermoPro display is located. Well made, I expect it to perform well over the long term.

Small Thermometer But Fine for My Needs
Tiny but powerful little unit. Attached the outdoor thermometer outside my back door - and the inside unit is magnetized and is on my refrigerator. The distance is only about 40 feet so I cannot say if it would work at 500 ft. It seems to work well but since my outdoor unit catches the evening sunset, the temperature is higher than my weather app on my phone. It came with the batteries provided and worked as soon as I installed them. The Display is nice and bright and I have not had any glitches in the connection even when the weather/wind was strong or harsh. It appears you can synch up to 3 devices to the unit which would be nice to see how your heat/AC units work within your home but I only needed one. Also - it was a little confusing that the marketing for this thermometer mentioned โhumidity sensorโ. There is no humidity reading - just the outdoor and indoor temps. I took away one star for this - otherwise I am pleased.

Great
So the thermometer itself is great, as long as you actually receive what you buy. I ordered the product new, and received a very clearly used item that had sun damage and was missing the back cover. This is far from the first time Amazon has done this, and it needs to stop. Even if the company doesn't care about customer satisfaction cost of shipping replacements all the time should be a good deterrent, one would think. After I received the replacement (which seems actually new, since the batteries were sealed), the thermometer has worked great. The inside temp usually matches my other thermometer and the outside temp usually matches the weather report. There are variations, of course, considering that the weather covers the city as a whole, and the two thermometers update at different times. The only thing I dislike about this thermometer is how difficult it is to remove the back cover on the remote sensor, as it makes changing the batteries very hard. The batteries lasted about four months, roughly. I bought the product early January and had to change the batteries around the end of April. My area has really harsh weather extremes, so maybe they would last longer in areas with more consistent temperatures. What type of batteries you use will also influence this, of course. The text on the indoor display does get a little harder to read when the batteries are low, so that might be an issue for some people. Also, remember that I mentioned sun damage on the original shipment. I keep the replacement in a shaded area, but if that's not an option for you, the product might have a short lifespan (or just look bad if it keeps working). Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Just be sure to double check that you received what you paid for.

Why is it so cold outside?!
Works great, I put this in my closet so that when I get up in the darkness of morning I can tell if I need to dress in layers. The display is very small compared to other models, but this displays the exact info I need and it's mounted right on my closet shelf divider. The only thing that would make it better is if the the sensor also had a magnet like the display. That way I could mount it right on window instead of on a wall nail.

Stands behind their product!
Bought this thermometer in June 2025. It worked great until January 2025 then stopped displaying the outdoor temperature, but still displayed the indoor temp. I changed the batteries in the outdoor unit with fresh batteries, but that didnโt help. I called the company and the agent was very helpful. He had me remove the batteries so they would connect. Works now! He said if it hadnโt, they would send a new unit so if you have a problem at some point, call the company. Donโt just order another one.

Works well, but eats batteries
Easy to read, seemingly accurate, reasonable price. My only issue is that goes through batteries faster than I'd like. Seemed like every month or two, I would guess since it is frequently communicating with the outdoor sensor. My other two indoor digital thermometers that don't have outdoor sensors go much longer without having to replace batteries. I switched to two outdoor analog thermometers instead. Another better option would have been a AC plug-in weather station, but I didn't want something that complex or pricey. I just wanted the temperature.

Nice design but defective sensor
Since this is a temperature-only display, I was questioning whether it would receive the temp (only) from a temp/humidity sensor.? The answer is yes! It is now part of a system with three sensors (two combined temp/humidity, and one temperature only) and two ThermoPro displays (one that displays temp and humidity and one that displays temperature only. You can set either or both of the displays to show either one sensor of your choice, or to rotate through the sensors at about 8 seconds per sensor that it receives signals from. If you change the number of sensors in the system you have to re-synch the system so that it stops looking for one that is missing and finds any new sensors you have added. There is s (very small) symbol at the bottom left the shows a rotating arrow. When that is displayed the display will rotate through the 2 or 3 sensors (if you have more than one). The disapointing thing was to discover than after two hours the sensor failed. I have notified the seller and we will see how they deal with replacing it. I noticed that other buyers have experienced sensor failures so I was not totally suprised but it is unpleasant to discover that the issue has not been fixed in the supply chain and the inventory containing the bad sensors flushed from the system. I am going to give 2-stars for the nice design offset by the defective sensor. The symbology could be better designed to make the tiny font (about 8 pt) large enough to read without having to pick up the base station. I can immediately see a couple of ways to make it fit, show what it needs to show, and not increase the cost of the display. The Temperature is large enough to read from 6 ft away (0.75" high numerals). Addendum: the vendor replaced the bad sensor and now the system works just fine. There are two modes for Max/Min readings. One recalls all-time Max and Min and the other recalls the Max and Min that corresponds to the 24 hr period after a reset hack. By that I mean that when you press and hold the Max/Min button on the back of the base unit you establish the beginning of a 24 hr timer that automatically resets every 24 hrs going forward until you again manually reset the 24hr Max/Min. So, if you stay up until midnight and reset the Max/Min, any time you read the Max/Min you will see the Max/MIn for the interval since the previous midnight. Same behavior if you reset at 3;30PM: if you look at 3:29PM the next day you will see the Max/Min from the prior 24 hrs, but if you look again at 3:31PM you will see only the Max/Min for the one minute since 3:30PM. The all-time Max/Min are apparently reteained in a separate memory location but I don't know if it gets reset when you reset the 24-hr timer or if it only gets reset when you replace the battery. If somebody wants to run this test you can post it as a comment and I will update this review as I have my two base stations set to restart the 24-hr Max/Min timers and Noon and Midnight. However I now have enough data to state with confidence (based on five battery changes) that the battery life of this model is awful. I get almost exactly 6 weeks usage for a set of two AAA-cells while the indoor/outdoor temp/humidity model exhibits a battery life of 4.5 months.
