Are the wonder styluses sturdy enough for a toddler to use without breaking?

Not all toddlers. but other things like sturdy straws have worked well. 2 yr olds do well

I was extremely pleased with both the quality and value of this product. It was easy to use and the kids loved the results.

Is it messy when you scratch it off is there a black residue?

There is a black residue after you scratch off the surface. I have my grandson work on a vinyl placemat. He taps off the residue on the mat when he is finished, and the mat is easily wiped off into the trash can. I don't feel it is that big a deal for the fun my grandson has making pictures with these sheets. Hope that helps.

I bought these to put as on an activity table I had for kids at my baby shower. The kids absolutely loved them. They made some really beautiful artwork. Even some of the grown ups joined in on the fun. I highly recommend these. The pages are big and sturdy. It was just what I needed. You may need to buy extra sticks but other than that it’s perfect.
