Why call it Cedar when it is Not??

I believe ours is fir which is also a good wood here in the Pacific Northwest for the outside. It has weathered over a year now and it has endured quite well. Right next to our cedar fence. Also unless they changed it since we purchased ours it does say "fir". Mary H

Has is out installed in the ground? (The similar question received an answer that doesn't make sense to me)

If the question is how is it installed in the ground, we cemented ours in. I bought a 3 dollar bag of cement we used old half gallon plant pots that we put in holes so that the tops of the pots were flush with the soil level. The way we did it was to drill a pilot hole in the bottom of each post just slightly smaller than the bolts we were using, then put the bolts in about 1/3 of the way with the other 2/3rds of the bolts sticking out of the bottom. Then we set the bolts in the cement so that the posts are above the soil level. This required clamping a small section of 2x2 for a cross support at soil level to each post to keep it from sinking down in the pots, but you could also use longer bolts or shallower pots to prevent the sinking issue. Hope that helps.

what is the dimension of the post and the tops? is it 2x4?

posts are 1 1/4" X 2" and top is 1 1/4" X 3"

Nothing available pre-made. I built my own and mounted gate and arbor on 4x4 posts.
