Wrangler TJ Front Grab Handles for 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Steel,Black

These work great. My boyfriend had these in his Jeep first and I decided I liked them a lot more than the velcro/rollbar grab handles. They're very sturdy and feel more secure to grab onto getting in and out of the Jeep. ------------------------------ Notes on installation: They're relatively easy to install, I would recommend doing ONE BOLT at a time instead of taking both out and lining it up, your roll bar may have enough tension that makes it harder to line everything back up if you take both bolts out at once. Basically take one bolt, loop the handle in, tighten down most of the way, then do the other bolt, repeat, tighten everything down. As the instructions mention if you have an 03-06 TJ your door trim is a little different/has more plastic and you will have to cut part of it to make it fit. I have an 02 so did not have this issue though I did have to loosen it so the handle could fit behind it flush against the windshield. If you don't want to cut the trim you can order the older style door trim and swap it in. If you have a soft top you might find the door surrounds are just in the way enough to make it a little annoying to line up a socket and ratchet straight on. It's more work but I undid my top halfway to get the door surrounds off just to get a more direct aim so the bolt went back in straight. You could also probably use a wiggle/u-joint socket extension if you don't want to take the top part-way off.

Great handles, very sturdy, simple install, took about 10 minutes because I had to trim a tiny bit of plastic on my 2000 jeep wrangler.

Sturdy and looks great. With a 4 inch lift, it’s just what I needed. Much better than the straps I had. Grip handles feels nice too. I wish they came with new hardware though. Had to use my old screws.

‘97 Wrangler. The handles are very strong and the placement is good. They were not scratched up like other reviews had reported on their’s. Although, like some other reviews, the grips were missing; reason for dropping a star. Too bad because I chose these handles because I liked the style of grip in the pictures. I did not report it to the seller because others had reported the issue with no luck, so I saved myself the hassle. I ended up purchasing some bicycle grips; $7 for a set of 4. The grips have an inner diameter of 22mm and the handles have an outer diameter of 18mm, so I wrapped the handle with electrical tape. It took four passes of tape to increase the diameter to the 22mm. I remembered a trick when I was a kid to use hair spray to help the grips slide on and stick when they dry. In the end they look good and the grip is nice.

Fit was perfect on my JKU. Very handy and heavy duty. Very easy to install. All parts are in the package. I highly recommend.

Me and my passengers have gotten some good use out of these new grab handles. It makes getting into my 2002 Jeep TJ effortless and easy. A must have if your Jeep is lifted. Only downside is after installation you can no longer swing your sun visors from the windshield over to the drivers side/passenger side doors to block the sun from the side as the sunvisor pivoting elbow will hit the grab bars.
