Leaves no streaks! Great finish
Nice matte finish and does not leave streaks. High quality and I definitely recommend to professional artists.

My Favorite Matte Varnish
Liquitex is my go-to for most art supplies; specifically varnishes. They make great varnishes and I can always count on them to work great and not get tacky. The matte works so well and dries quickly. Not shiny at all and can go on most things. It works really well on polymer clay. It protects acrylic paint which is perfect for my commissions on Etsy. I look forward to many more great years with using Liquitex products.

Smooth even coverage every time - if appied correctly
Excellent way to seal your acrylic paintings. Lay canvas flat, use a dry, synthetic brush, large enough to make as few passes on the canvas as possible. Don't load the brush with too much varnish... Maybe 1/2 inch to 1 inch depending on the brush size. Wipe excess off the brush. Apply varnish in one direction, light even pressure, from one end to the other without interrupting the stroke... Again, this depends on canvas width and brush size. The key is not too apply so much at a time that it puddles. Even distribution. Don't go back and forth as if you're painting. Think of it as painting fingernails. If you go back over the same spot it will be tacky and produce undesirable results. Go thin. If you're doing a second coat let dry thoroughly in between coats. If it looks like it's streaking, don't brush it again. Let the varnish settle, you'll be surprised that it will most likely fill in the streaks and wool have a smooth even coverage. I highly recommend this product and this brand specifically.

I like this varnish A LOT
I previously bought some varnish from the local store, and it dried so quickly and my brush left streaks. I was really bummed. I then decided to give this one a try - It looks great! I tried both the Matte and the High Glosee from Liquitex Professional and they both turned out wonderfully. I did exactly as the instructions said - Swirl it gently, apply from side to side with a soft brush, did not dilute with water. I feel like 1 layer is enough for me. I especially like the Matte one - the colors are vibrant and there's no glare from the light.

Easy to apply
Works good to bring out the color on acrylic painting. I did one layer at a time. With about 2 hours in between. I noticed that over time it got even more vibrant colors that pop. please wear gloves!! It can take for ever to remove. And it makes is harder to use touch screens. 😁

Great Matte Varnish For Miniatures
I use this for sealing miniatures. I use a Krylon gloss coat and then finish it with this matte varnish. I had a problem with the Krylon being tacky even after a few days of drying but this matte varnish actually removed the gloss and tacky feeling of the gloss coat. It is not durable enough to go on without a gloss coat however. I did some spot testing and perhaps if you do multiple thin coats that it would offer more chip protection without doing a gloss coat first. I live in a very humid area where I am lucky for it to ever drop below 80%, so having a paint on varnish is pretty much my only option. You do not need a thick application of this vanish, and you also need to make sure you do not overwork the varnish. I just soak my brush and try to dab it in other spot and then give it a good once over. Make sure you thoroughly clean your brush and just to be on the safe side use some junk brushes. I thought I cleaned my first brush really well and it was not enough to get the varnish residue off my brush and I just had to pitch it. Now I only use junk brushes which I still soak in water and then use some Masters Brush Cleaner on and I haven't had another problem yet. Do not thin this varnish with water though, make sure your brush is as dry as possible and once the varnish is on the miniature do not start messing with it after it has begun to dry.

Needed varnish for repainted items and it delivered a great finish at good price
Ive recently picked up the hobby of repainting figures/props and a varnish is definitely needed to elevate some to the last step, especially if its for something touched a lot so the paint is protected. The first thing I used it on was to seal repaint of this toy flintlock and after 3-4? (bottle says use 2-3) coats you can see how it looks. When on display there's noticeable shine so the metallic painted parts look metal and the "wood" looks a bit polished like how real life ones are. However the finish isn't unnaturally shiny since this wasn't the high gloss variant so it doesn't look cartoony. I bought 4oz for $5 and that is a great price since even with extra coats I used it didn't drain the bottle much. I highly recommend picking this up especially if your environment isn't suitable for spray varnishing. The one "downside" is that since this is a water soluble/based varnish it won't be AS protective as an enamel lacquer varnish so if you need extra protection or something you'll be heavily touching and roughing up then dont use this since it'll wear out quicker. But for figures/props/minis and display the price to quality and ease of use is very hard to beat

Parfait
Bon vernis.
