I've been using this product for three months after religiously using natures gate aloe shampoo and conditioner. This is by far THE BEST shampoo I have ever used! It lathers nicely, and you only need a little bit to work into your scalp. I personally love the smell and tingle, but someone who isn't into natural products may find this shampoo strongly medicinal-smelling at first. Avoid your eye area and any area that's sensitive because the tingle is intense. My hair is naturally fine (but I have a lot of it), noticeably oily after a day, shoulder length and dye-free -- I stopped dying it almost two years ago and as you can imagine, I had dry/damaged hair. The natures gate was a good starting point for me but I wish I had found this shampoo sooner. With natures gate, my hair still felt stripped and straw-like even after a prolonged conditioning in the shower. Forget about just shampooing -- my hair would literally break without conditioning. Yes, it was shiny... but got oily within a day and felt weighed down and grimy. Then I discovered Giovanni. I no longer use conditioner AT ALL in the shower. I use this shampoo every two days, and the Giovanni brand leave in conditioner on the days that I wash my hair. My hair stays shiny, bouncy, clean-smelling, and best of all, not oily, for two to sometimes three days depending on my activities and the weather. I have gotten so many compliments on the softness/shininess/suppleness of my hair. I have little kid hair again! Yay! The bottle lasts about a month for me and it is totally TOTALLY worth trying. You won't regret it! Update 3/19: Just wanted to update, after over four years, this is still my shampoo. My hair is down to my waist now. I find that about a tablespoon of shampoo works well to lather my entire mane. If Giovanni stops making this, I don’t know what I’m going to do, lol. This shampoo is a holy grail product and I will continue to pay the premium for it.

I once read in an article something about how shampoo would become obsolete within the next few years, with everyone going "no poo". Well, the author of that article didn't take people like me into account. I must be the demographic shampoo is truly created for. My hair is fine but I generally have a lot of it, and it's wavy with some ringlets at the nape of my neck. It gets frizzy easily. (I am 2c by Fia: a "wurly girl".) I wash my hair almost every day because of my exercise schedule and the heat/sweat. Anyway, my hair loves Giovanni. After disastrously experimenting with "no poo" I returned to the shampoo that I KNEW would make my hair happy: Giovanni's Tea Tree Triple Treat. I like Giovanni's Golden Wheat shampoo, too. Anyway, I saw this new (to me, at least) Wellness line and wanted to give it a go. Surprisingly, the shampoo is dark brown, and it has a vaguely medicinal smell mixed in with its herbal notes; which is of course to be expected. (The herbs in the formula are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.) Like the Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo, my scalp finds this shampoo very refreshing. I expect it will live up to its claims of strengthening my hair and its roots. For those who are curious, the EWG Skin Deep database rates this Giovanni shampoo a 3, and the accompanying conditioner a 2. (Tea Tree Triple Treat and Golden Wheat shampoos score 4 and 2, respectively. Much as I like it, I'm actually thinking I may not buy my beloved Tea Tree Triple Treat again because the rating is so high!)

I loved this product. It helped cut down in my hair loss. Then I noticed the shampoo a lot lighter color than before. It used to be a dark burt orange color. Now my hair is falling out again. They must have changed ingredients.

Good stuff but they apparently don’t make it anymore. I have tried lots of products to nourish my hair and scalp! I don’t like junk in my products and this seems to be clean!

While I don't have any explicit disliking of the product, I feel like I get slightly better results with the 50:50 shampoo. The 50:50 leaves a cleaner feeling and has a more pleasant smell. I won't be buying this again just out of personal preference.

terrible. we love Giovanni products and buy them all the time! This is the first one we did not like - not one person in our family of 5 will use it again. we are going to be throwing away a full bottle of shampoo. very bad smell. a strong menthol/chemical smell.

It's natural! Excellent quality product! You can smell the potency of the herbs, and feel them on your scalp. I will buy this again, along with the shampoo. If you know your herbs, and what formulas grow hair, you'll want this first.

This Wellness system shampoo from high-quality skin care products of Giovanni is simply the best. I love it! I am glad I was able to find this product again. I love the fact it uses Chinese herbal formulas to make it an outstanding product. It cools, cleans, refreshes and leaves my hair in better condition than higher-priced, "fancy smanchy" products that are laden with chemicals and other nonsense. Together with the conditioner, I think this is the best system duo for hair that Giovanni produces....! I will keep using it because IT WORKS!
