Eve Room - Indoor air Quality Sensor to Monitor air Quality (VOC), Temperature & Humidity, Apple HomeKit Technology, Bluetooth and Thread

First off, I bought this mainly because it works well with HomeKit. It was super easy to setup and link to my HomeKit. I wanted another air quality sensor for the house. And mine appears to be pretty close to showing what other devices in my home show, which is a good thing! For what the device is, It works well for my needs. However, my air purifiers have air quality sensors in them, and because it has a fan they detect air changes quicker than this does. But I love how this little unit will stay charged for a month or two. And the app can provide some added detail, along with graphs you can export. Very handy!! The screen on the device leaves much to be desired. In all honesty, I would like the option to turn the screen completely off. It’s not very bright, hard to read and see. I sort of sit it someplace and forgot it. Using only my Home app to view it’s information, which I love! It looks alright, and blends in to any setting. It’s small too, would have liked to see a bit bigger unit for a larger battery. But you can always plug it in I suppose. It’s a good product for the price. Being HomeKit supported is great! I would recommend, and will likely buy the outdoor weather one next.

This product works great and I have the app installed but I at first didn’t realize it would slow sampling once the battery got low and the app gave no active message before the battery died. If your watching your environmental monitor like a hawk fine but for a set and forget mindset you do need to check the battery every few weeks.

This thing has one job to do and that job is accurately measure VOCs. Let me be perfectly clear, it does not! I had my suspicions when I got this thing up and running, it said the air quality in my living room was "excellent". I knew for a fact my living room was not. so I took it to my kitchen where we cook food using a gas stove, not a single change in the air quality, it's still excellent. I said huh maybe I'm doing something wrong. I followed all the instructions including fully charging it first and then later in the day taking it to a clean room for calibration. To make sure this thing isn't defective I took it to my brother's apartment. My brother is a smoker and a heavy one at that so you would think the air quality in his space would be miserable, the damn thing managed to change from excellent to good!! this thing is simply unreliable. It's an overpriced piece of total junk! and micro-usb for a 2022-2023 released device? you've gotta be kidding me. These people are so cheap they weren't willing to invest in the 2 cent upgrade a USB-C module would've cost them! 0/5!

im a tech junkie and love little gadgets like this and the fact that it supports homekit is a plus. the eve app is very easy to use as well and offers many different options and stats regarding the sensors and i love tracking the data it records throughout the day. the sensor itself is also very tiny and cute and the battery lasts sooooo long with the new addition of thread. i never have connectivity issues and the sensors seem very accurate as far as i can tell. only downside is that it is bundled with microusb and not usb c but they provide the cord in the box if you dont have one lying around, and the battery life is so good i really cannot complain since you wont have to charge it very often haha. ive had it for about two weeks now and it is still at 100%. crazy!

I was skeptical at first but it works well and matches my Dyson air filter that’s nearby. I was trying to verify a sudden increase in VOC’s, but after I got this, neither Dyson or Eve monitor has shown an increase. I’ll keep it because it also checks humidity around my house plants. It did not give me any issues connecting and linking to Apple HomeKit. So far it’s been 100% stable. I also like the app — more technical than Apple Home and the Eve app brought in all my other home devices in its platform.

I already had several of these air quality sensors and this is jut the latest one that I bought. I now have one in my kitchen, the basement, my bedroom, and this last one in the garage (which has insulated walls, ceiling and garage door.) They are easy to charge, although the cable that comes with them is a bit short, but the fact that they are chargeable is so much better than having to replace batteries, as needed in other kinds of sensors. Eve products are every reliable, and work well. Very pleased with these sensors.

Measured against four other units: my thermostat, HomePod mini, Govee, temperature, monitor, and a meat thermometer. temperature: The Eve room was 1.2 to 1.5° higher than all other units, which were all within 0.5° of each other. humidity: the Eve was about 3% off but that is insignificant. In the process of testing, I discovered that my thermostat was 8% higher than other units. Air quality: completely wacko. After several hours saying I had basically no VOCs, I took it outside to calibrate. Bringing it back in, the VLC reading went up. When I put it in the refrigerator for a temperature test, that readings shot up to 8000 µg. After that, it never really came down. Putting it outside, the reading was 411 µg on my Porch. Taking it to a friends house on a 1 acre lot placing it outside outside of town, it was “inferior“ at 600 or 1000 µg. (Inferior) inside her air purified house, Back in my house, it was 3000 or 4000 µg and would not change. Back outside, it never got below 411. back inside again, it stuck at 3776 and stayed there even when I put it back outside to try calibrating again. Note that there were several hours in between each reading. After resetting the unit, it was 36,000 µg. It won’t change. even after putting it on my porch, completely unfit for purpose. Accurate testing for formaldehyde and other extremely small VO see particles requires units costing quite a bit. There is no documentation of how this supposedly measures anything. Also, the $11 Govee Bluetooth unit is more accurate. Readings on the Eve home are taking no more frequently than 10 minutes (for the first several days, it was no more frequently than an hour), making it unusable for, say, automating, a portable AC unit. Given that the eve weather is actually less expensive, there is no reason for this unit to exist. my house should have fewer VOCs than most. It is historic, with old growth lumber, wood floors, wool rugs, leather furniture, drafty with outside air, and the gas range is vented to the outside. Also cotton shirts and vinegar as my main disinfectant.

Outside Apple’s ecosystem, this works with Bluetooth only. No Matter over Thread ability.

There were a few reviews of this device claiming the sensors were out of whack, however they are on par... eventually. The first device that I had purchased I had absolutely no problems with it, the second device had a few problems, like the battery indicator was always at zero, but a hard reset solved that issue thankfully. The air quality sensor was the next thing to be totally off however I left it for a few days (4-5 days) and now it's finally calibrated and just needed time to fix itself. I love these devices to both control De-humidifiers and humidifiers depending on the season, and also be able to check on the conditions at home while I'm away. I only use Eve devices for my home automation and I've been very satisified with them.
