Works great!
This worked perfectly. It dramatically slowed down my dog's eating, and he no longer chokes on his food. It held the perfect amount for his serving, it's durable, and it's easy to clean. We love it.

Effective Slow Feeder for My Dog
Using the Neater Pet Brands Stainless Steel Slow Feed Bowl has significantly improved my dog's eating habits. It fits perfectly in our raised feeder, and the design effectively slows down his eating, which has helped with digestion. The stainless steel construction feels sturdy and easy to clean, making it a practical addition to our pet supplies. One thing I particularly appreciate is how the design encourages my dog to eat more mindfully. It’s not too challenging, so he doesn’t get frustrated, but it does enough to prevent him from gulping down his food. This bowl holds a good amount of food, accommodating his meals without any issues. However, I did notice that the bowl can be a bit noisy when he's moving it around while eating. Additionally, if not placed properly, it might shift a little in the feeder, but these are minor inconveniences compared to the benefits. This bowl has become a crucial part of our feeding routine, combining functionality with ease of use. The slow feed design has really made a positive difference, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their pet's eating habits.

Good quality and works great as slow feeder.
Good quality bowl. Definitely works well as a slow feeder. The design forces your pup to work a little bit to get to the lower layer of food. I really like the quality of the bowl and fits perfectly in the space provided with my stand up storage bin. Perfect!

Great for slowing down feeding; best for dog with long snout
Our golden mix was aiming at a world speed record, we think, in chowing down her meals. Literally, before we had a chance to cover the rest of the can and put it back in the fridge, she was finished with her meals! All the pet experts warn that gulping and chowing food is dangerous, especially for larger dogs, so we are relieved to have found this bowl. We previously tried a suction base insert thing in her previous ceramic bowl...but it didn't stay put, and she couldn't really get to the food. Most other slow feeder type bowls had two problems for us...they were plastic (no, thanks) and they were designed to sit on the floor, which doesn't work for our old girl. I found this Neater Feeder insert bowl, and we love it! First feeding was a little awkward, as she looked at me like I'd lost my mind! She tried to nibble, but walked away. And whimpered. Oh, the DRAMA! I ignored and went about my business, and a few minutes later, she returned with determination. It took her almost 10 minutes to finish the first meal, but two weeks in with it, she averages about 4 minutes....a FAR CRY from her typical 15 seconds! She just needed time to adjust. The bowl is stainless, good quality, strong, durable...all of that. I love that we can sanitize periodically in the dishwasher. It's a little tricky to clean by hand because the channel is deep. To that point, I believe this bowl will only be suitable for a dog whose snout can actually reach down into the deep channel. Our girl is golden mixed with husky or malamute (we aren't sure), so she get in there. A dog with a flatter face or short snout will be very frustrated and maybe not able to get the food. It's about 3" deep, and only about 1 1/2" wide (the channel). This bowl insert fit just fine in her existing elevated feeder (we replaced her ceramic bowl), but we decided to go ahead and get the large Neater Feeder base with leg extensions anyway, and glad we did. It's a bit large, but it's doing a great job protecting the wall, woodwork and floor from the usual spills and splashes. I reviewed that separately, if you're considering it. Great products, a little expensive, but we know it'll last a long time and our girl is worth it.

Perfect for slowing down your dog’s meals!
Great bowls! Very solid and sturdy and a good weight to them. Our dog inhales his food in 30 seconds or less without a slow feeder and would sometimes end up coughing or barfing it all up. This bowl slows him right down to 3-5 minutes. Read the description and photos carefully before buying. They give you detailed instructions on how to measure to be sure they fit whatever base you’re using.

My dog mastered the slow feeder within days!
It was just a matter of days before my dog mastered the slow feeder. It started out great when we first got it because it was a new experience to him. It took him darn near thirteen to fifteen minutes to eat. As time went on, he was back gulping down his food in a matter of three or less minutes! Before this bowl, I had a suction cup type device that I placed in the middle of his stainless steel bowl that he moved around in order to eat. When I first ordered the bowl, my dog was a full pledged raw eater until the COVID-19 kicked in, so I had to find a quality dry dog food to feed him. With both types of food, raw & dry clusters, my Airedale Terrier mastered both types within no time. He has gobbled down his food in a matter of two to three minutes again. To slow him down some, I have to split his meals in three to four part feedings, and space it out to fifteen to twenty minutes. The less amount of food in the bowl made it harder for him to eat. The dry food moves around a bit making it harder to catch. The raw food, I had to pack it down in the bowl, and if it was cold, it was harder to eat until his breath warmed it up. All in all, he still eats too fast with either type of food for me. I think the better bowl would probably be the MAZE type feeder for him, but they don't come in a stainless steel nor for an off-the-floor feeder. Large and tall dogs should always eat at an appropriate elevated height. Not bent over and down on the floor eating their meals. I am still frustrated by the way he eats and I cannot still slow him down. Most of the time I lace his dry food with some form of Kefir, milk or water Kefir for the extra probiotics which now stops the rolling around in the bowl and easy access to to food, which means gulping the food down faster. The bowl is highly constructed and durable but it's just not slowing him down to my satisfactory. Try it for yourself, it may slow your dog down to a certain degree of some sort until something better comes along. Basically, that 's what I waiting for because I am not in the position to design and market my own product.

Good product
This is just what I needed for slowing down my new rescue dog’s eating speed. It slows her down enough without making it too frustrating for her. I like the fact it’s stainless steel as it’s easy to clean. It fits into the raised feeder (of a different make) that I already owned, so was altogether a good buy.

Rusty after 5 weeks.
We have bought 2 of these bowls. First one is still ok after almost 1 year, but the second one is starting to rust after 5 weeks of use. Expected the stainless steel bowl to last longer than that.

Great quality
Great quality bowl. Material is solid and it cleans up easily. It also works as well as the plastic ones that have more complex openings but are difficult to clean. This one is fantastic. Highly recommended.
