Tired of carrying buckets of water? Get one of these.
Works perfectly. I didn't bother to try a valve shutoff while pressurized, wasn't necessary. Easy to use. First I connected to bathroom sink after removing the faucet aerator. With the nozzle end in my hand I turned on the water with and felt for the vacuum at the nozzle. Then I walked the hose to the tank and began vacuuming. Once done the device suctioned the hose mostly dry and I turned off the water. To fill I dosed with conditioner for the whole volume of the tank. I kept the valve on suction and felt the water coming out at the bottom to make sure I had the right temperature for the tank, then (while my wife held the discharge nozzle at the tank) slowly turned the valve to send water to the tank. Every so often I turned the valve a little and let it spray out the bottom onto my hand and into the drain to make sure the temp was still correct. Within a few minutes the tank was refilled. No more carrying water buckets!!! This thing works. Simple. Effective. Most complaints I have read are from users who decide to use the valve on the tank side or sink side to shut off flow, pressurizing the system. Unless you have it connected correctly leaks will happen and the hose could blow off the fitting. No need to pressurize it if you have a someone at the tank to tell you exactly when to turn of the faucet. After filling all you have to do is switch the valve back to vacuum and turn on the faucet, roll up the hose as you go and keep it high enough for all the water to be sucked out.Tip: You don't have to fill at full pressure but you do have to vacuum with the faucet on full pressure.

A must have if you have large aquariums.
I wish I had bought this sooner. Another quality product from Hygger & I couldn't be happier. Makes doing water changes on my large aquariums a breeze & it sure beats lifting buckets of water. It's long enough to reach every aquarium in my house & the brass sink adapter is great.

Works great but very bulky
I live in a 800 sqft apartment with 11 fish tanks. 6 40 gal, 1 29 gal, 1 20 gal, 1 10 gal, and 2 5 gal. Works great for large water changes and filling new tanks. I only use it for my 20 gal and up tanks. It's much faster and tidier than using buckets and a short hose! The adapter works on most sinks. You will have to unscrew the nose of your faucet to make this work. It did not work on my shower faucet. My biggest complaint is the size of the tubes. Great for fast water changes but very bulky and difficult to store. I live in an apartment but I can imagine this would be a challenge to store in any size house as it would take up a whole cabinet and has an awkward shape. Unless you have a utility room where you can hang it on the wall. Other than that I love this and saves me so much time and headache!

Works great for filling water jugs
I am changing my 3 star review to a 5 star only because I found a better use for the hose. It didn't work for my fish tank and made a huge water mess in my house. I tossed it in the garage and didn't think I'd ever use it again. We had a plumbing issue that required us to get our water from a spring on the mountain. We had to fill 5 gallon water jugs and it was time consuming until I remembered the failed fish tank hose. I was able to connect it to a water spout and funnel the spring water to my water containers without taking them out of the truck . It may not have worked for my fish tank but it works great to fill water containers while saving my back from lifting heavy jugs into the truck.

Easy and time effective
An absolute time saver for sure. The faucet adapter is great I was worried it wouldn't fit my faucet. The plastic is a little cheap and it leaks at the faxuwr very slightly. Just make sir you screw everything nice and tight because the o ring is what's preventing those leaks. It's a bit of a waste of water in order to siphon but I always left my facet running doing water changes anyways just to maintain the correct temperature and now it couldn't be easier. I turn the faucet on to siphon and drain the water, I temp the water before I make sure to fill and when it's the right temperature all I do is turn the valve and it pumps in water just as easy. I'll then take the tube out and siphon whatever is remaining in the hose. Made a little cheap but it beats the leading competition 50 dollars higher so it's to be expected. Saves a ton of time and hassle

Poor quality, purchase with caution!
I would NOT recommend this product. I have purchased many Hygger products without issue in the past so I was excited to receive this water change system. I was tired of lugging buckets to my fish room. During only the SECOND use, the shut off valve on the syphon end broke while I was topping off an aquarium. It shot off and sprayed water all over the room until I could get to the sink to shut it off. What a mess. I would recommend spending the extra money for the name brand bucketless sysytem.

More affordable then the alternative, decent quality, but lacks in over all performance
Emptying your tank requires suction, which means full pressure water from the sink is wasted in order to create suction to pull your old water from the tank. Great waste of a precious resource sadly. The metal hardware is nice, and flexible. Fits a garbed hose and my sink very well. Love the added quick connect. Adding other quick connects allows the process to be quicker.Sadly a great deal of pressure is require to suck the water. The ideal sink in my home for cleaning the tank does not provide enough pressure, so I have to hook it up to a less ideal bathroom sink in order to get the job done. Not sure what the problem is but I’ll have to investigate. In general the device works as advertised but honestly is more work then a hand pump and a bucket. Takes longer, and requires me to use an outdoor hose so at least the waste water is feed to my plants and bushes. If you have a large tank perhaps this is worth it. For smaller tanks I think this is more hassle then its worth.
