Garbage
First fork in the display of the set is bent. How the hell does Amazon even ship an item that is visibly damaged BEFORE they ship it??? Besides that, $200 cutlery and it damages that easily? Forget it.

Beautiful with a couple flaws
I recently purchased a silverware set, “non-brand” that were very similar to these at a fraction of the price, and it’s often true that you get what you pay for. They were too cheap feeling so I sent them back and went ahead and ordered this Mikasa set. Expensive, but you get quite a bit—setting for eight and matching serving utensils.Pros: Simple, modern and versatile in style. Mirror silver is shiny. Not too light or heavy, although spoons feel heavier than the forks. Feels comfortable to eat with. No complaints from my husband who has big hands.Cons: Instructions say dishwasher safe with hand washing being preferred. It’s 2024. We throw everything in the dishwasher. I turned down my dishwasher setting from the highest (sanitizing/pots and pans) to normal. Unfortunately, I’ve been seeing rust spots mostly on the butter knives only. Disappointing considering the price and Mikasa’s level of quality. I heard turning off the heat setting can prevent this, but that would leave the rest of the dishes and cups very wet. Nope.Tablespoons are very large while the teaspoons are tiny. My mom thought the table/dinner spoon was a serving spoon. Leaves fingerprints like crazy, but not a big deal.I’m still mostly happy with this set, except for the rust issue, but I’ll keep them.

These feel so good!!
Okay I'm a total snob about flatware. I hate it when it feels cheap. I hate it when it feels flimsy. This stuff looks better than the expensive stuff I got when I got married. It feels just as solid as that stuff that was $12 a fork 20 years ago. It's well balanced. The size of the utensils are perfect in relation to your mouth. I hate tiny little forks. Tiny little bowls on spoons. These are perfect. I love how streamlined they are. Very traditional looking but also a tad bit contemporary. Love them. Buy them.
