Just what I needed.
Ok, here's the honest truth about these compression shorts. I've played competitive softball for over 40 years and I'm still playing ( just with kids my own age) and I've used compression shorts for the last 20 - 25 years. Under Armour, Mcdavid just to name a few. While cruising Amazon for a replacement I came across MAVA and I'm so glad I did. The price was fair they looked nice so I ordered a pair size medium silver. After reading a lot of the reviews I felt good about my decision BUT started to worry about the size. So I ordered another pair size large gold and planned on returning the pair that didn't fit. Well guess what, they both fit fine (go figure) so I'm keeping both pair. One of the best features about these shorts is the waist band and draw string. I say this because being 66 years old I do have a bit of a belly. The other brands such as UA and Mcdavid don't and use an elastic type band which just rolls down and the elastic wears out MAVA fixed this issue. I really hope these last for a good time. I've found the last brand of compression shorts I will buy. VERY much recommend these shorts. Don't be so worried about the waist size if you have tree trunk legs could be a problem.

as nice as Virus V3 compression shorts
I finally wore out my Virus V3 compression shorts, and had a one track mind to just get an identical pair. I have had them since early 2018, and train in them a lot. I don't do cross fit, I just do Olympic Weight Lifting, mixed with some power training. I grew so much, the seams and threading was coming apart. This was not a negative on Virus, My legs, and glute area just got that big. My disappointment, was Virus has stopped that part number I wanted. Those shorts were almost 70.00 usd.I have had a pair of Mava Knee wraps, and a set of Mava wrist wraps now for several years, of constant beatings.I saw a link to the Mava Compression shorts, and at first dismissed them, because they were so low in price. ( about 19.00 usd ) I just like black shorts, with little or no fancy designs on them. Well, I got a pair, and they were actually great. They have more compression, and silky smooth, and let in a lot more cooler air during the workout. They do stretch, and feel great in them. I got another pair, and have been looking to get a 3rd, slightly larger pair. I cant say enough about this kind above. I do heavy squats, front and back, dead lifts, snatch, clean and jerk, plus many accessory movements. I can almost predict, that this may be seen soon at many training halls. If they made a one piece lifting suit, I can even see they will make it on an Olympic stage, either Europeans, PanAMs, or World championships.Virus, had done the same, and now many athletes just don't train in them,( shorts ) but also compete in them. ( one piece lifting suit )Come On Mava . . . make a good, quality lifting suit. You already know how to make the shorts very well.

New Mava shorts coming unstitched after five hours of use and one machine wash.
Update: I’ve been washing and wearing the size XL’s about a year. They’ve held up very well—no stitching issues; not lost elasticity; stiil not riding up on leg days. The drawstring is unnecessary—I pulled it out.—-ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought two pair. I destroyed the first pair on day one in under thirty seconds by overheating the material with a hair dryer to dry the sweat. My bad.The second pair of Mava shorts are coming unstitched after five hours of use and one machine wash. I put s lock stitch through the seam with a sewing needle and haven’t had an issue since. They are still the best compression shorts I’ve used and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. I also recommend going a size larger.NOTE: I bought two pair of XXL. Too long and loose for my statistically average body. I’m 5’10”, 160#. They are proportionately larger than the XL’s I wear; longer in the legs, higher on the waist (not LowRise on me—almost to my navel), looser in the basket and on my body.XXL are Recommend for men taller than 6’, or who are stalky.

Firm compression.
I've owned these MAVA Sports Men's Compression Short for about two years. I own two pair of compression shorts. The shorts from MAVA and a pair from TSLA (CLXS). I like (and recommend) both. But it depends on what you're looking for. The MAVA are serious compression shorts with tougher material that provides solid, firm compression around the thighs/hips/abdomen. The TSLA shorts are lighter material with lighter compression. I found the fit of both products to be accurate. I have a 31" waist and I ordered medium in both. My MAVA pants have a draw string. Unfortunately, when it comes to compression pants, you just have to try them on to see if they're right for you. If you want serious compression, go with MAVA.

first the good..
I'd give these things five stars if not for two issues... first the good... these things are TIGHT but they save your skin when doing some serious exercising (think hiit, cross fit ...even biking). I really do love them. They do exactly what you want/need them to do. Now the bad... mine have stitching that is giving up but not due to wear or bad sizing... the grey/silver stitching up the front right thigh was unraveling the day I got them. I kept an eye on them and decided to just keep the shorts but it's progressing and getting worse :( The other issue is also stitching and this time it is the bottom left inner leg... it's black stitching and also unraveling. I don't know if either will render the shorts unusable but this is an issue potential buyers may want to know and so maybe the company can get the feedback. This said, I would buy this brand again.
