Lengthy but hopefully helpful.. Bought an Old Victorian house and I'm restoring it, living/working out of one bedroom as the house slowly comes alive again. The bedroom is 255 Sq/Ft, 10 foot ceiling with zero modern insulation ( Plaster and lathe walls, balloon framing, tongue and groove plank flooring over a crawlspace etc.) I covered the three drafty old 30"x70" windows with a plastic window winterization kit and addressed any obvious drafts I found. I ordered this heater. Looks to be well made. As per all Oil filled heaters, it takes a good while to reach operating temp. So... Cranked all the way up to Max, this thing keeps the old room at 61F while the outside temperature is currently 27F, with three inches of fresh snow on the ground. ( 2 Dec., 2025, Western KY.) Balmy? Nah, but Impressive, regardless. I just bundled up a bit with a couple layers, I'm just fine. In a modern, or well insulated structure, I could see this thing punching way above it's weight in performance. It is performing beyond expectations in this vintage environment for sure. The electrical usage shouldn't be crazy. I seriously doubt this heater draws it's full 1500W rating, as it's wiring is probably/ maybe 16 Awg?? That said, without doing a proper check, I would guess it's about 1200W at around 10 Amps. That makes it even more impressive, and definitely easier on the ever rising electric bills. As far as electrical heaters go, I would agree the oil filled heaters are the safest, but would point out as others have, it's only as safe as your home electrical system is sound. Old janky, backstabbed outlets and double/triple tapped breakers are just asking for a fire and it would be no fault of the heater . I have mine plugged in to a dedicated 20 Amp circuit, and the pigtail is barely warm on Max settings. As you might have guessed I' m loving it so far. Time will tell what the durability is in this age of en****ification of all things, but on the bright side, these heaters are pretty simple to repair. Yeah, consider this for sure. In my experience, until I install central heating, this thing is keeping 2550 cubic feet of air comfortable enough that I don't have to deploy the SERIOUS heating units yet. It will probably surprise you. 5/5
