Great at catching letdown
I exclusively breastfeed my 3 month old son. I was just putting a burp cloth over the breast that he was not feeding from to catch the leaks so milk didn’t get all over my clothes and sheets until I bought these milk collectors. What a waste of milk I was letting pour onto burp cloths! I get about 0.25 oz of milk just from the leaks that would otherwise be wasted. I hate pumping so it’s nice to catch even small amounts of milk which actually add up to quite a bit when I’m feeding my son on demand (which ends up being about 8 times a day). The suction on these are minimal and nothing like the regular haakaa. It’s basically just enough to keep the milk inside the collector and not spill out. I’ve had issues with oversupply a few weeks ago so I’m not trying to suction extra milk out. There is a little opening that has a plug so you can safely pour out the collected milk into a regular bottle for storage. Easy to clean with a bottle brush after each use.

Best of the best
This works way better than my old milk collecting shields. My old shields only allowed 2oz of milk each, and I always knew when it was full cuz I could feel it sloshing around over my nipples and this feels very uncomfortable. With the Haakaa I can't feel the milk even 4 ounces later and I love how it holds so much. My old shields felt like it was cutting into my areola. And I would have deep circles pressed into my areolas and they were super red and very painful. With Haakaa, I noticed the back collapses around the areola and nipple almost like a flange funnel. It's like it's hugging my nips. Very comfortable and doesn't hurt. My old shields didn't have a plug to keep from spilling my milk. So I couldn't sleep with them cuz I spill everywhere. And I couldn't bend over, squatting all day really hurts bad. With Haakaa, it has a very strong plug and I can now bend over. No more squats. I can also sleep with it on, have yet to spill. Even while sleeping on my back and sides. My old shields are hard shields and baby hates them, she can't lay against me without crying because they are hard bubbles on my breasts. With Haakaa, it's squishy and baby loves them cuz now we cuddle more and she can't tell I'm wearing anything or at least she no longer cry's about it. My old shields moved around on me in my bra, never seemed to stay put, probably why it was always cutting into me. With Haakaa, it suctioned to my skin. It stuck to me effortlessly, and stayed put. Even with baby wiggling all over in my arms. And because it has such suction power, it feels like it's drawing the milk down and out of me. Probably why I now drop 4oz a boob vs my old shields only 1.5 to 2oz per boob. All in all, yeah Haakaa is expensive but it's totally worth every dollar I gave them. I'm never going back.

Excellent! Does have suction!
First of all, this device does have suction! It is mild, and not as strong as the hakka pump, but it does suction! I am amazed by this, its perfect for catching milk during letdown while I breast feed. Usually, it would wet a blanket that I would put over my lap. I was amazed by how much it collected. It reduced engorgement and collected milk during letdown and it was 2 ounces! I cant believe that it would have been waisted if I didn't use the ladybug. Pros- pretty easy to use, and put on breast. Doesn't hurt, doesn't fall off- I didn't even use it with a bra, I used it while nursing and it still stayed on. Sturdy, doesn't tip over and spill Cons- Left an indentation around my areola. Not to bad and didnt hurt, but it did leave it. The little plug to pur milk out seems a little flimsy like it could break, we'll see. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase!! I hate pumping, so this is a great way to collect milk towards a supply that I dont have to pump and would otherwise be wasted.

Good product, but read on for more details
Ok so my overall review for this product is positive. I think that this product does what it was made to do but I think that any problems I had were either personal preference and/or little knowledge of how to actually work product to perform optimally. 1st thing is that I purchased the 5oz. and when you put it on, it is not very discreet. If you have a tight shirt on you can see the outline of the haaka and if not, you can definitely still tell there is Something in your shirt because your boobs look huge. I guess this doesnt matter if your at home whenever you wear this but my dad lives with me and I just felt awkward walking around with it. 2nd thing is that the suction is either too much or I didnt know how to do it. I say this because when I took it off after a couple hours, my nipple and the part of my boob that was in the hole was poking out so much and the hole caused a ring around my boob that lasted all day and It almost made them feel sore. Also I think that I should have purchased the smaller size because the most milk that I collected was maybe 2-3 ounces and that was only once Usually it was more like 1-2. I think that if you produce more milk then this is a good size for you. I may try using them again see if I like them more. Btw, when I did wear them it never spilled on me which I like and it was very easy to pour milk into bag or bottle.

After 5 weeks of trying to manage an over supply, I feel like this product deserves the raving review! Note that this product is NOT meant to pump milk nor suction it out. If you want to pump go for a double electric pump. This simply catches drips that would otherwise go to waste (which is 3oz to 5oz every morning for me). It's comfortable to sleep in but I use it during feedings because I catch more milk that way. Wish I started using this earlier, I absolutely adore them! Sioft shells, easily pliable, no leaks and has legs to stand when preparing storage bags. The quality is worth every penny. Bug thanks to the Haakaa founder and team!!

Recomendo
