Do you guys have a preference between the velvet or the acetate clips in terms of comfort and how well it worked?

I really don't know the answer to your question! I can say that the clips that I purchased, the Sizobi Bird Nest Magic Hair Clips are quite comfortable and are really perfect for clipping my hair up and also for holding my long braid in a bun whether it is at the back of my head or on top.

Do you make smaller ones for baby fine thin hair? Like this concept but they're too big for baby fine thin hair.

I also have fine, thin hair, but it is long, so the clip holds by putting a couple of bobby pins in first and clamping the devise over them. There are other styles of clips from this company for other types of hair.

Will these work for baby fine hair ?

I seriously doubt they would work for baby-fine hair. I have very thick, curly hair and they work great for me until I flat iron my hair straight and then, even though my hair is thick, they tends to slide out. Otherwise, these are GREAT!

Will these work with thick shoulder length hair,?

That sounds very much like my hair and it did not work for me. They got extremely tangled from a basic way I tried it and was hard to get out. They also do not open or close as easily or smoothly as they make it seem. I threw mine out and got a refund from the seller.
