Duke 551 uses standard international cartridges and converters. Or you can use a blunt syringe to refill the one you have! But cartridges are disposable, yeah.

I see it has a bamboo- like texture -Is the body of the pen textured or smooth?

It has a little bit of texture but it's lacquered or something so it's still smooth. So - you can feel that it's wood but it's not rough or unpleasant at all. Actually, it's a pretty incredible pen, really. I was not disappointed. It's a heavy pen, but it's well balanced. I do like the feel of the body.
