UEI Test Instruments DL479 True RMS HVAC/R Clamp Meter, AC 600 Amp

Its been working great . This meter is not my daily driver and only pull it out when repairing hvac and has been working great . I feel like im a lot bang for the buck using this meter . It great for testing capacitors,temp and amperage and the magnet was a nice touch not to mention the light on the meter . Great tool so far

Been electrcian for 36 yrs. This is a very good tester. Got a magnet and light on it. From what I understand people who use to work for fluke broke off and started there on company because fluke would not put magnets and lights on them. This is the less expensive one but still very reliable. Love this better than my fluke that came up missing.

I like it better than my SC260. It fits my hand better and just seems easier to use. It's also a better value and reads micro DC amps.

Very useful tool for diagnosing electrical issues. Have had no issues with either one I purchased (gave one to my coworker). Only wish it could do DC amperage (well, larger than DC micro-amps), but otherwise has everything I need in a voltmeter.

I had high hopes for this meter but fell way short! I'm an appliance repairman so I use my meter all day... Every day. Because of the way the function dial is made, it's almost impossible to select a function "one handed" and forget about changing it with gloves on. You have to roll the selector and it doesn't move easy. If you use two hands it's not bad but I seldom have that luxury. Next is the temperature probe. It uses a standard K type thermistor but you have to have an adapter if you use anything other than the factory thermistor, which is a bit annoying. Also, the temperature is off by about 10 degrees with no way to calibrate it. I've tried several probes and 7 degrees off is as close as I can get... Totally unacceptable. How can I use it for HVAC when it's that far off. It's unusable!! And it makes me question every other reading I get. This is not a cheap meter and for the same money you can get a professional meter that's accurate, reliable and smaller eg. Fieldpiece SC260. Overall... Don't waste your money.

This was a replacement for a DL99 I have had for around 25 years. It has features that the 99 didn't have and so there is a bit of a learning curve to push the right buttons to get it in the right mode so don't lose the instructions. Only have had it less then a week but did check the accuracy against a couple of standards in a few of the modes and the accuracy seems to be within the published figures. It is a little lighter than the DL99 so I don't know if it as sturdy. Time will tell. There are some makes at 1/3 the price on the web but "you get what you pay for" Am satisfied with it.

Excellent quality and accuracy. Easy to use. Included storage pouch is handy and will keep it in better condition. Wish mounting magnet was stronger.

I just received it recently, I didn't use it that much, but it looks great and everything is working fine.

Im a plumber gasfitter by trade and almost use this on a daily basis and still going after 6 years of use, almost everything still looks as it was brand new other than the temperature probe the tip of it the Fiberglass overlay is unwinding and making it difficult to slide into sheet metal screw holes or between duct to measure the temperature, other than that no issues with the unit and has everything I need to do my job
