Can this make it through security so I can travel carryon only?

It usually initiates a hand search after baggage screening because it´s very uncommon, and then gets waved through with a smile. So while it makes it through security, it can bog you down :-)

Are these the real ones?

I just received mine yesterday. They certainly seem to be the real ones. They are made in China as some of CRKT's tools are. I have quite a few CRKT knives and I don't think one of them are made in the US. My titanium M16-13 is made in Taiwan so I would believe these are the real ones. For the price, they are worth it.

Can it be used to shave a magnesium block?

Possibly the side would work if you can get a real grip on it to shave off the magnesium.I don't have a magnesium block,but plan to purchase one from firesteel.com..They have an array of fire steels(I have the GobSpark Armageddon Fire Steel).I think you'd be better off using a knife as it would be easier on your fingers(gripping on to the tool).I personally don't like using it for eating as it's way to small,as compared to a regular sized spork.

why is the wrong product video displayed?

I have no idea. I didn't link the product to a video when I posted it for sale. I got this as a gift and will never use it. It's never been removed from the original packaging
