Best first upgrade for 3d printing
I installed a metal extruder on my Ender 3 Pro to replace the stock plastic one, and it’s been a great upgrade. The installation was easy — it bolted right up using the original hardware, and the filament path lined up perfectly without needing any modifications. The metal design feels way stronger and more durable than the stock plastic extruder. With the old plastic one, I had issues with the arm wearing out and slipping over time. Since upgrading to metal, extrusion has been much more consistent, and I haven't had any problems with skipping or under-extruding. The tension adjustment is smooth and firm, and it holds filament securely without grinding it down. It’s a simple, affordable upgrade that just makes the whole system more reliable. If you're still using the original plastic extruder, I definitely recommend swapping to a metal one — it’s an easy fix that makes a big difference over time.

Improved bearing quality
Very simple to install and it works great. Definitely a higher quality upgrade from the factory extruder.

Too High Spring Compression
Overall good replacement for OEM extruder. The spring was way too long though and was compressing and deforming (smashing) the filament when there are rapid small changes in the filament direction. This then caused the filament to jam in the Bowden tube. I replaced the spring the with the shorter OEM spring.

Fits CR-6 SE with no modifications 2025
Fits CR-6 SE with no modifications. 100% better than stock plastic one: all metal, easier to use, simpler mechanism/parts, and the innards are exposed so you can see the filament go through and the filament feeds so much better into bowden tube. Had the stock one for the longest, was pita when feeding since you can't see the inside and if filament broke off inside it was a shiet show to reassemble. Stock one ended up being all worn from me repeatedly jamming in filament to get it through to bowden tube since I couldn't see wtf was going on.

Great replacement for the partial plastic one that comes with the machine which broke for me.
Works great. When installing this you may want to watch the you tube video. The screws have to be installed in a certain order. Also the one screw that the spring goes on is an adjustment for the tension between the lined wheel and the curved wheel that the Filament feeds through. Generally you turn this screw out about 2 turns.

Works great when installed properly
I have an Ender 3, non pro, non v2. The motor i have has.a shorter stem, so I had to flip the gear upsidedown in order for the material to feed properly. You won't be able to figure this out unless you try extruding 100m with the bowden tube removed. I followed the youtube video from Irvine3d on how to calibrate my e-steps. I would have never figured out my extruder was slipping off the material until I did this. Before this, my print came out brittle and was having a hard time adhering to the bed surface. Also, another person on Amazon posted their gear flipped as well.

Much better than the stock plastic one...
Yes this made a difference over the stock plastic one. No more separation layers! Installed in only few minutes on my Creality Ender 3 Pro. which has a 15mm motor shaft- no issue. Remember to redo your e-steps and flow calibration after replacement.

Immediate improvement in my prints
I had the original feeder arm break on my but even before it broke there was a lot of slippage. I think the originals have more flex because they are plastic. This one is solid and the tension can be adjusted very precicely. Game changer for me.
