PUMIE U.S Scouring Stick, Heavy Duty Extra Strong Pumice Cleaning Bar

I have lived on well water all my life and have just accepted that you will always have a clogged shower head, green tint to your shower, red and green rings in your toilet, and buildup wherever the water has a chance to sit. Sure, I have bought many bottles of CLR but I try not to use it because I am also on a septic with a drain field. So, I soaked and scrubbed the toilets and showers for days with CLR whenever I was going to have guests. Then, one day I was talking to a coworker who mentioned finding these Pumie stones at a store and that they took the stains out without scratching the toilet. I was terribly skeptical and then figured... if you can scrub off the lime and iron in less than a day and you don't have to soak the toilet in green stuff that eats the skin off your fingers, then I am all in. And so I went to Amazon and find them. For a fraction of the cost of a bottle of CLR I was able to buy a stick. But I figured that I had to buy 5 sticks because surely no-one would sell something cheaper than the chemical alternative. Well... I got the box... with 5 of these sticks and it weighed next to nothing. When I picked it up I figured that a mistake had been made and the box was empty. But no... they were all in the box. Then my next surprise was that they are big. I was expecting something like a fat crayon. But these things are about the size of half of a clay brick. Looking for anything that I could find as a flaw, I unwrapped it and walked into the bathroom and scratched in an area where it wouldn't be seen if it messed up the finish. Oh my stars! Within minutes I had scrubbed off part of the lime ring under the lip. I stood there in wonder. I still had my dress clothes on and I just started scrubbing that toilet. In an hour it was like brand new. Not a single scratch. Mind you that when I use CLR, I turn off the water and drain the toilet, then line the bowl with paper towels and soak them in CLR. I then let it sit overnight and spend the next day with a green abrasive sponge scrubbing. But to my amazement, I had that toilet spotless in an hour. An hour! I jumped up and went to another toilet. An hour later I am still in my dress clothes in complete amazement. So, now... I think... I have cleaned two toilets completely and the stick is only half worn away. What else can I scrub. THE SHOWER!!! So, I go to the shower and press the stick against the tile on the wall. It cuts right through the green copper stain. Well... I'll spare you the details, but I have a shower that looks like new. Even the soap scum that clouds the glass on the shower came right off. Just amazing. I had tried everything like Easy-Off and CLR on the shower glass to try to get that stuff off. Well... needless to say, I am hooked on these things. It has now been a month and there is no trace of any mineral buildup in any of my bathrooms. I wish I had found these 20 years ago! I was so happy, I sent a box of these to every member of my family.

We rented a unit in a building that is probably 50 yrs old. I think the toilet might be almost that old too! We also have incredibly hard water in our area, and it leaves crud on everything. We don't have a dishwasher, so don't deal with that, but you can see the buildup in the coffee pot, and other such places. Our potty was disgusting. Hard to tell how many years of buildup was actually in there. It was not the top of the potty - we bought a new seat when we moved in. It was the ring around the bottom seat and just under that ring, where the water flows back into the potty from. I had tried all kinds of cleaners, even bought a steam cleaner that had a concentrated pointer on it. It loosened a little bit of stuff, but the years of hard water and dried urine crystals just would not budge. It not only looked disgusting, but smelled equally yuck. Lime Away did nothing, CLR did nothing, Lysol, etc etc. I tried at least six kinds of cleaner that did nothing but empty the pocketbook. I finally asked in an online group for creative ideas what they had tried for such a problem. I was told about a couple other cleaners (which I have not tried), and pumice. Several people recommended pumice, in fact, so I went on a search for one. I wasn't sure what I was looking for really, having never used it on anything but a rough heel of my foot. Those are thin little pieces of pumice for your skin, and I couldn't imagine it working on this nightmare of a potty. Well, found this stick. The "heavy duty" is what sold me on trying it. I hadn't looked locally, because I don't have the ability to get out of the house very often (physical limitations).Took a chance and ordered this one. It arrived, and today I went in to tackle The Beast! I armed myself with gloves and the pumice stick and a will to see white again. The stick MUST be wet and stay wet. That is easily accomplished when cleaning a potty by simply dipping it into the water inside. (I'd wet the stone first in the sink and dragged it over there - duh!) I sat down on the side of the tub and proceeded to tackle what must have been decades of hard water and old urine buildup. Gross! This stick was amazing! I wish I'd worn heavier gloves though, so be sure to use something like the kind you wash dishes with - I just used a simple plastic one and it tore! It took probably 35-45 minutes of scrubbing and flushing, scrubbing and flushing,but tah-dah! We now have a nice, clean WHITE potty! The water is also coming into the bowl much better with the buildup reduced so much around the rim holes. All in all, I used the entire stick on this decrepit potty. I'll be buying another one for sure. I'll tackle the old rust stains in the bathtub that CLR didn't remove. Highly recommend this stick for porcelain cleaning! And, it is pet-friendly. We have cats, and one of them was trying to stick her head over the bowl because she was nosy, but I didn't really want to use the hydrochloric acid cleaners in our tiny bathroom with no ventilation for both our sake and the pets' sake. No chemicals, no smells, just some elbow grease.

Ugly old toilets in a house built in the early 60's. Tried everything to clean them. Spared no expense or risk to my health. Finally replaced the upstairs toilet. Yay, a nice white toilet! Cleaned it religiously. But then that ugly ring showed up anyway. Tried everything again to get it off. Nothing took it away. Downstairs toilet is so stained it is embarrassing. But again tried everything. Gave up and have a plan to replace it. But I know that ring will show up on the new one. So I decided to research again. I want ring-free toilets. This stone came up. I had seen it before, but didn't believe something so inexpensive could possibly work. But then seeing it again, I am reminded of the time the Magic Eraser came out and I had no faith in it. Until I caved and bought one at a friend's prompting. Amazingly, that little white sponge worked. I even got down on my hands and knees with that Magic Eraser and cleaned my grimy old linoleum floor and brought it back to white! So I decided to stop snubbing this item give it a shot as well. Glad I did. Took me less than 5 minutes to get the ring out of the new toilet. Tackling the old toilet was a different story, but some sweat, sore fingers and half a stick later, I got that thing free of rusty stains and even faded the weird grayish tone where the water sits. I am so mad I didn't try this years ago when I saw it the first time. Now I can hold off on the expense of a new toilet for a bit longer. I love this! Side note, I did read some unhappy reviews about this coming all dusty from poor packaging. Mine came with a shrink wrapped plastic cover on the stone inside the cardboard outer box. Also, some have said they don't last long. I was also surprised to see how quick it got to half a stick, but I had one seriously stained old toilet. But now that I got all the really bad stains out, I think one stick will last me awhile if I am simply removing the rings only. I would recommend this item to anyone.

This is an actual piece of pumice stone, not sand glued together. It is fairly light by nature, and is like a honeycomb of rock with lots of air voids. It looks just like in the picture, which is what I was hoping I would get. I used it to remove calcium buildup in the bottom of a toilet bowl. It takes some effort but works well. It wears down as you use it but doesn't fall apart just by getting water on it. I used about 1/2 to 1/3 of the stick to clean the bowl. It came in a Pumie box, like some other pumice stones I see on Amazon. The stone inside the box was shrink wrapped. The box was a little bit crumpled. Not sure if that happened in shipping or if this is a factory second or something. The stone was fine so I was fine. I've used a natural pumice stone to remove calcium before which worked well, this is like that one. Recently I've been looking around at the stores in my area to find a pumice stone for this job but I don't see the natural ones in the health and grooming sections of the department stores or in drugstores any more. They all have what seems to be sand glued together to make a stone, which does fall apart when you put it in water. That and some of the reviews about pumice stones here on Amazon made me nervous about this stone but for the price I decided to give it a try. Thankfully it is a good one and I can recommend it fully. It is priced quite well relative to others. I'll be getting more of them.

When a friend told me to use a pumice stone to clean the REALLY annoying discoloration ring in the toilet bowl, I was admittedly skeptical. How can scrubbing ceramic with a rock be helpful for that? However, being a neat freak who was not about to accept a stain in the very clean toilet making it look nasty, I decided to give it a shot (there are some weird minerals in AZ water, and it made brown, grey, and pink stains in the bowl at the water line. Gross.). Be warned - it makes one of the worst noises I have ever heard. Nails on a chalkboard was nothing compared to pumice on ceramic! I actually stopped and went to get ear plugs before continuing. (One rating star lost due to ringing ear drums for a few hours after use...) It worked though! It does use up the pumice to some extent when you use it, grinding away at it. I lost maybe 5% of the length doing 2 toilet bowls (very thoroughly though). It doesn't just temporarily fix it either - it has been more than 6 months and those stupid water stains have not reappeared! At that rate I'll never have to buy another one, but I'd happily try some of the other uses listed on the box.

A month or so ago, one of our toilets backed up, and some very icky sewage came up from the pipe downstream. It took a week to resolve the issue, since we had to call a plumber. After finally getting the problem resolved, I noticed that some of the little bits of sewage that had been in the toilet must've left a bit of rust around the toilet, staining the bowl in many spots (the spots were dark brown in the middle, with light brown around the center). After purchasing and trying every known toilet cleaner (I tried Clorox, Scrubbing Bubbles and Lysol, then poured in CLR and scrubbed with it), I was getting nowhere. I even tried denture cleaning tablets, but to no avail. I read about pumice stone, and how it might help clean a toilet bowl (and other nonporous surfaces). I was a bit nervous, though, because some spoke of damaging or dulling the polished porcelain surface (in the end, my fears were unfounded). I pulled the stone out of the box, and got to work scrubbing one half of the toilet. The pumice wore away slowly, kind of like a rough piece of sidewalk chalk, and deposited a light grey sludge in the bottom of my toilet. I flushed every minute or two, to make sure the sludge didn't build up too much. After about ten minutes, the right half of the toilet bowl was done--and it looked immaculate! Another ten minutes, and the toilet bowl was clean as new. If only every cleaning product worked so well! I still have over half the stick left, and I'll be saving it for the next time there's an impenetrable stain somewhere in the kitchen or bathroom. This stuff really works! It requires a little elbow grease, but where every chemical cleaner failed (even with hard scrbbing with sponges and brushes), this pumice stone excelled. Highly recommended for stubborn rust/mineral stains!

This is a simple pumice stick that cleans toilet bowl ring in a fast, efficient way. This is how I do it a) flush the toilet and turn off the water so the water does not rise up -- makes it easier to see stains in order to clean b) using medium pressure make scrubbing motion using the pumice stick on the stained toilet bowl ring .. takes less than one minute and the stains are all gone c) turn the water back on and use your toilet as normal. It's so simple I bought three sticks and placed them in each of my three bathrooms. I can get rid of all of the toilet bowl ring stains in less than five minutes. Ridiculous easy!!!! Because it is a fairly good size stick, at no point does your hands even come remotely close to touching the toilet --nice. I have used it about 5 times and there's still over half a stick left ( the pumice comes off as you clean so the stick gets shorter and shorter -- similar to how a chalk gets smaller and smaller as you use it ). I buy this stick at Walmart which is cheaper than getting it at Amazon. Just get it! It will make life soooo much easier when it comes to cleaning toilet bowl rings and cost virtually nothing ( less than three bucks a stick ).

This little scouring stick works great. I was a little hesitant even after reading many positive reviews. I decided to try it out since other cleaners and scouring sticks did not seem to do the job as well as this one advertised. I simply put on plastic gloves and went to work. It helped clean the gross dark ring fairly quickly. It took me about 10-15 minutes to get the ring off. Pros: works great. Cons: unlike other scouring sticks I've tried, this one crumbles off as you scrub leaving the dust like particles in the water. They flush away, so that's not the problem, but the scouring stick got short really quick. Definitely a one time use depending on how much cleaning you need to get done. I still have a small piece left that I plan to use at the very next sight of even the slightest ring appear. Yes, I definitely recommend. Although they do not last long, I would rather pay the couple bucks each time than have spent more money on others that did not do the job.

Had some tough stains I couldn't remove with any of the cleaners I had, heard about the pumice stick so figured I'd give it a try. I put on the rubber glove and it quickly removed the stains without scratching. Was very impressed! It does wear away quickly, but it works. I did 3 toilets with similar stains and used up most the bar. Will absolutely purchase again!!

I used it inside my oven doors and it did a wonderful job removing burn stains . Would recommend and will repurchase.

Our toilets looked new until rust stains started forming just below the rim on both. It looked awful. I prefer natural products so was very pleased to find this Scouring Stick here on Amazon. Ordered one and it arrived recently. Super easy to use and completely effective! I am so surprised and pleased. No more stains! Have just ordered more, one for each bathroom, one for the basement, and another for kitchen (oven) duties. I highly recommend it, not only because it does what it says, but because it's not harmful to us or our environment - 2 highly important qualities!
