I want to use this for heating home. Is there much difference between this coal and anthracite coal?

This is a blacksmith's coking coal. It initially produces a lot of stinky smoke, but then burn clean and hot. Anthracite is so-called hard coal. It will not for coke and is harder to light. It burns clean and hot. Some sources have it in stock locally for very reasonable prices - much cheaper than this coal.

can I use it for an open fire? For heat

I wouldn't. It smokes a lot at first. So you wouldn't want to be that close till it stopped billowing. It does stop and produces a lot of heat so maybe. But you need your blower to start it lol. Not my first choice for open pit heater
