These have to be about the best bang for buck out there. I had to replace mine recently, and I went straight for the same model. Things I like: all the zippers are covered. It's a small detail, but it helps keep grunk out of the zippers and water out of the bags. The zippers are good. I've never had any sticking, or jammed slides, or zippers popping open, and I've definitely stressed them, overfilling with fairly heavy items, like canned goods. The zippers have double slides on the main compartments, another nice touch. The stitching is good - it never runs off the edge of the fabric, resulting in failed seams. and the main seams are double-stitched, with additional bar and x tacking at stress areas. I like the trunk bag. It adds more capacity than I expected. I like the stiffening insert being installed and stitched into its pocket instead of having to wrestle and wiggle a plastic sheet into pockets that never seem to hold it, like some panniers I've seen. All of the plastic clips seem secure, and I've not had one come loose or break. There are other nice touches, like the smooth material on the sides facing your wheel. Makes them easy to clean and adds some water-resistance. I'd describe the size of these panniers as medium, and that's fine for my use, which is mostly errands and commuting. I've certainly done extended weekend camping rides with smaller panniers than these, so I'm happy with the size - holds a weeks groceries with no problem. What I'd change: No deal breakers here, really. The trunk bag zipper could go further around the bag. It only opens at the end, which means you may be doing some digging for items stored at the far end, away from the zipper. Any claims of reflectivity are not warranted. For example, the ROS logo is claimed to be reflective. It is not - it's just shiny. So what is reflective? See the tiny white lines on the wide black webbing used for the clips? That's it. Those thin white lines are actually retro-reflective. That's not enough. Easily fixed with some LightWeights silver flex tape ( Lightweights SilverFlex SuperBright Reflective Tape 100 ). I'd also like to see attachment points for clip-on taillights. And maybe a few more webbing loops/clips for additional bungee points or lashing. So why do I have to replace these bags if they're that great? Well combine a day ride with the grand kids, a few leftovers in fast food bags that I didn't clean out of my bags when we got home, and a hitherto unsuspected (and unexpected) rodent in our garage. Yep, these bags are definitely not rat-proof. By the next morning I had bags that would only be useful for toting a couple medium pillows. Anything smaller would have fallen out the rat-holes chewed in the bottoms of my bags. But buy them anyway - these are a great value for non-rat-proof panniers.

I want to make this clear, I am rating the product itself not Amazon warehouse deals, which is why I am giving it 5-stars instead of 3 but I'll start with Amazon warehouse, just in case if you plan on buying it from them instead of new, like how I did. If you're not, just scroll down further to the review of the product. Amazon warehouse deal-- I was able to buy this product at a discounted rate. I don't mind using products that have been previously used. However, Amazon warehouses need to do a better job at checking out their products that are being resold. There are some stains on the bag, not a big deal, it's kind of expected and their relatively small. In one of the side pannier bags there were a lot of white powder substance. I didn't really notice until I started putting clothes in there for my cycling work to commute and when I got to work to take them out and put them on, they were covered in white powdery stuff. Since I didn't have any violent rages for cocaine, it probably wasn't anything bad. I just wish it was better cleaned out before being resold. The other issue is that I am an Amazon Prime member and get 2-day deliveries on most items but this took a week to get here due to some 'difficulties.' And I mean, it happens. I'm not unreasonable. However, it is another thing to add to the list of issues I had ordering a product from one of Amazon's warehouses. The last issue I had was that there was a screw in one of the side pannier bags also. I mean, it's just a screw. Not a terribly huge deal until you realize that it could have been a nail or something else that could be potentially dangerous. Like I said, I don't mind ordering used products but I won't be doing it from Amazon warehouse for quite a while. Now the actual review for the product-- It's great! It's super strong, durable, incredibly spacious. If you need to do some grocery shopping or just need to carry a lot of stuff, this bag will do it! I also plan on using it to be a bike messenger for Postmates when the temperatures are at least above 50F (since I don't think food orders would stay warm for that long in temperatures lower). I am very happy with the bag itself. I haven't even used the top bag yet! The side bags have a strong back surface to keep it from flopping around and hitting the wheels. Both side bags have velcro straps to keep them in place also and won't swing back and forth. On the top of the side panniers, once you unhook the buckles on the top and release the velcro straps, you just grab the handle on the top and carry it like a normal bag. Your feet also don't hit the bags. If they do, the only thing I can think of is to try and readjust the length of your rear cycling rack, so the bag wouldn't be as close to your feet when pedaling. I really enjoy this bag. Buy it new. If you buy it used, don't get it from Amazon warehouse, get it from another seller.

So, there are so many more expensive options for bike panniers and as a daily bike commuter, I want something that will work well, hold up over time, and easily carries a decent supply of things in addition to my standard product (repair tools, lighting, spare tube, hat and gloves, rain gear). Beyond that stuff, I like knowing I can get whatever I need off my back in a pinch. these do this for me having been using it now for about two months. I'm sure there are more durable products out there, but I've learned from prior panniers not to over strain the zippers or stitch points and because this one is spacious enough, I haven't on these. Here are a few CONS: - The straps that attach the top pack to the side panniers work and can easily be detached, however, the straps do not adjust so when empty, the top pack kind of flaps around. I've not really had a major issue with it, but a design update would sure be nice so you can cinch down the top pack. - the zippers do not feel very strong and are only one way zippers. Typically, I prefer to be able to adjust zipper placement so I can unzip from one side, the other, the middle, or anywhere in between to make it quicker and easier to get into and out of my set up. not possible with this one. - I don't enjoy garish things, so although I've gotten used to it, I wasn't the hugest fan of the large "ROS" on the sides... makes me feel like it is a ROSS DRESS FOR LESS bag... it's not, but I never enjoy garish advertising on anything, especially something I have to ride daily. - the attachments aren't as well engineered as my previous pack. Like I said above, I've not had any issues with how this attached or it staying on and it doesn't impede my biking at all, but it's worth noting, especially if you are needing to get these on and off quickly in any frequency. The PROS: - Riding strong in month two with no complaints and everything riding secure and sound. - The top pack easily fits my larger than normal business note pad with various books I need for teaching and work and it is nice that I can keep those business items separate from other miscellaneous items in the side packs. - It has handy side pockets and a top zippered, mesh back I can use for wet clothing and/or things I want to keep aired, which has come in handy a couple times. - It's pretty darn spacious when all things are considered, and if you don't need the space, the top pack easily detaches. I had to bike to a huge pre-Thanksgiving dinner with friends so we could imbibe a few drinks and my two big dishes as well as a six pack of beer all fit just fine, the top pack ensuring things stayed upright with a few bungees, and even when everything was packed, I still had room to spare. That impressed me. - The canvass is durable. If it comes apart, it'll be at the seems or zipper like how my last lower priced panniers came apart. It will not be the canvas that fails, it is plenty durable. So, given these pros and cons, for the money, I'm way pleased with this pack. Time will tell if it is a "decades dependable do it all", or a "two year interim commuter pack"... either way, for the price, it was worth it to me. I guess I'll get that retro, leather, quick detach, "wow your friends" pannier once I win the lottery or retire... or when this one breaks! :)

Great quality for the price. I'm Amazed at how much cargo I can carry. Durable material, and the removable carrying bag is a plus.

Lots of storage. Easy to mount and dismount. Have used them for my daily 16 mile round trip commute to work every weekday for 10 (now 30) months and more than 3000 (now almost 7000) miles now. Zippers all working fine. Not highly water proof, the bottom gets wet from the water splashing up, top is more water resistant it seems, have not ridden in significant rain more than 3-4 minutes so the wet pavement seems to be the bigger problem. Very handy pockets and good use of netting. I have inserted plexiglass sheets into the rear for mounting my four bicycle taillights, very easily done and I get high visibility at night this way. Has side straps that I use for sidelights, another nice feature. Not showing any significant wear and tear after 10 months, even though I dismount and remount the bags off the frame twice every day. Now at 30 months, still in great condition except the velcro straps that hold the sides against the rack wore out after about 18 months. I instead tie a shoelace around each side, takes me 20 seconds to do so. Zippers and stitching are all fine. Bag survived a fall with no injury, wish I could say the same. Suggestions for improvement: tail light straps on the rear of the upper container, which already has very handy light mounts on the sides, 2-4 mounts, not just one, because multiple lights greatly improves visibility and safety (four tail lights makes me look larger to traffic). Improve waterproofing of the bottom and sides to improve splash protection. These are not negatives, just suggestions to improve a great and not expensive saddlebag.

These bags have been used on over 5,000 miles of packed cycling over the past 3 years. I load these bags up, and there is plenty of room for multi-day touring. They also offer extra creativity for strapping other stuff down. They are NOT waterproof. I spray it down with canvas waterproofer and store my stuff in travel vacuum seal bags (both of these together make water a non-issue). I recently got a couple of small holes in the bottom of one side, and merely plan to sew them back up, which is what brought me here as I needed some information on the material. Figured it's about time for a review. If you take care of this pannier bag set, it will serve you above and beyond what the price tag suggests. I will buy this again when my current pannier set becomes unrepairable.

Great to carry extra things while biking out in the woods. A little disappointed in the seams came loose on one of the pockets. I hope the manufacturer sees this and reaches out to me to fix it. I like th bags because I can carry all the tools I need to fix a flat on the bike. It’s also big enough to take extra clothes in case it rains. And when in the woods I still have enough room for bear spray and a gun….it gets wild here in N Idaho.

These have been my daily commuter bags for 2 years now. 8,000 miles a year in the rain,snow,sleet etc.. They aren’t waterproof(if your that worried about it, throw your stuff in a plastic bag first) all the zippers are fine,no rips and they still look halfway decent. For the price you can’t beat ‘em. I have bags that are way more expensive that have had plenty more issues than these.
