Great ingredients for a healthy food for your cat

Ok, my dear, sweet, evil Pixie is 16 years old. She is the paradigm for picky, picky cats concerning eating (and other things). She will eat no food unless she has it for the past 16 years and it is ONLY pate, which is down to Trader Joes Turkey pate and Friskies Mixed Grill pate. And certainly she won't touch human food. She will deign to eat dry food if she is not crazy about the wet food, which I add water to and stir it into a slush for her or she won't eat it. She will eat hoiistic or organic dry food found out by expensive experiments. HOWEVER, I needed to buy grain-free catfood for Passover (yes, animals must not have grains, either, for 8 days, but that's another subject) and searching Amazon, my home Mall, Halo came up. I had never heard of Halo, but desperate to get grainfree cat food I bought both the chicken pate and the oceanfish pate (why don't they make a turkey pate?). I watched expectantly and fearfully as she furtively came near the new food. She sniffed at it, eyed it, and lo and behold, she ate it !!!!!! She liked it, she really, really liked it. And she liked BOTH flavors. Thank you, thank you, Halo. You have a customer for the many next years (hopefully).

I feed my cat Stashu the dry grain free Halo food too! The combination of the Halo Wet & Dry Grain Free food is wonderful!!! Stashu used to "Toot" all the time, so much so it made you think he was stinky!! Our dog eats Halo dry food too, so I put Stashu on Halo brand and he no longer "Toots" like crazy ! Big improvement and he absolutely loves it! I feed him the wet Halo food to help keep his "Urinary Tract" healthy and he likes dry food so I give him a little of the Halo Grain Free dry food every day too. He had no adverse reaction to switching brands at all (he was a stray cat I took in - I am so lucky!) I'm so happy I found a Natural, Healthy GRAIN FREE cat food for him. Cats do not eat grains, they are carnivores and require high protein diets. I highly recommend this product for all feline lovers. I feel good feeding this to Stashu and he is mroe than happpy and healthy eating it!

I recently did a study on cat food. I was horrified to find most commercial cat and dog food contain roadkill, sick deceased livestock and euthanized pets from shelters. I did a lot of cross referencing because I didn't want to believe this awful information, but I found it to be true. When I researched what the best food for my cats is where the manufactures do not use these awful ingredients, and that practices humane harvesting of the good meat, I found that Halo brand is at the very top of my list. I ordered Halo brand and my rescue cats LOVE this food. It smells healthy too. Not like some other commercial popular wet canned foods that smell like rotting, sick meat. I am very impressed and have ordered different flavors and also the Halo brand dry food. All seven cats LOVE this food in all flavors including the dry, but the fish is the biggest hit with all my cats. I am impressed! It's very pricey for someone who has 7 rescue cats, but it's worth knowing I am finally feeding them healthy, quality food. I would gladly give this cat food 5 stars, but it's the price that makes me leave it short by one star, but the quality deserves 5 stars.

My that and I have done some research into the best cat foods out there, and Halo always comes out among the very top brands. I have no idea what it tastes like, but I gave it five stars for taste because the cats seem to love it. It's a little more expensive than the really cheap crappy food that's out there, but I think that it has kept our cats healthier. We have a cat that is more than 20 years old who has eaten this for a long time and I believe that diet has contributed to her longevity. Way to go Halo!

I’ve used plenty of wet cat foods that have a strong smell, so I’m definitely used to that. But the smell of this Halo food is on an entirely different level. It doesn’t necessarily smell bad or spoiled — it is just unbelievably strong and overwhelming. I honestly can’t imagine feeding this indoors because the smell would permeate the house. I’ve been feeding it to my cats outside just so I can use up some of it, and even then I have to remove any leftovers immediately and seal everything up as airtight as possible. The odor is so strong that I also worry about it attracting neighborhood cats and other animals. One of my cats will eat it, but he’ll eat almost anything. My more finicky cat won’t touch it at all, so clearly food doesn’t need to smell this overwhelmingly strong to be appealing to every cat. I did receive a refund, which I appreciate, but I would not purchase this again. I’ve simply never encountered a wet cat food with an odor this intensely strong.normal wet cat food.

I've been serving up Halo Spot's Lamb canned food for a while and although he loves that one too, it has peas and carrots that he found hard to eat since he only has 4 teeth. This Pate is fantastic for him; much easier to eat because it's all ground up. He is a senior cat who's had a lot of health issues including repetitive vomiting. It is very rare for him to have a problem with Halo food. This Ground Whitefish food is strong smelling which I think makes it more attractive to him and he eats more of it. This is a good thing because he is a little underweight. I recommend Halo (canned and dry) to any cat owner who asks what I use. I buy it 4 or 6 cases at a time and it's shipped to my front door... thank you Amazon!

All Halo cat food both wet and dry is super high quality! My kitten Smarty Pants eats half a can twice a day, and we leave dry Spots Stew Wild Salmon For Indoor Cats out 24/7. My 7 year old only eats the dry and they both love the dry as well. Wet food is great for cats since it gives them extra fluids & keeps them hydrated, especially if they are not big water drinkers. Smarty loves the whitefish pate. I wrote to Amazon in hopes of getting it added to the Subscribe & Save option. For some reason this flavor is not part of that. However, one downfall of this flavor is the resulting very offensive litter box odor. Luckily, I had a few cans of the ground chicken pate and after she tried it, does seem to like it as much as the fish. So I took advantage of changing to the chicken pate instead. Now, I can use the S&S option, the litter box issue has improved and kitty and we are all very happy! Bottom line is all flavors/types of Halo are great products.
