Works great, cats love it, very quiet first 2 days
My 2 cats love this fountain water dish and drink more of our filtered water. It is easy to clean and holds 12 cups of water (just wanted to know). While it is very quiet for 2 days, when it gets to about halfway down, you can hear it in the next room and by the 4th day need to turn my volume up a wee bit on my laptop. However, that said, some of you may not notice it much at all. I started adding more water on the 3rd day. It is easy to clean yet my water goes through a 13 stage filtration process, so am sure extending the time between cleaning is not a problem for me.

Not just for the Kitties! My Whippet Approves!
The Petory Automatic Feeder has completely changed the feeding game for me and my very food-motivated whippet. She used to try and herd me to her bowl when she thought it was time to eat. Now she knows she is going to get fed on time no matter what I am doing. Setup: The programming interface is easy to navigate. The instruction book is easy to follow and It took me about 10 minutes from unboxing to fully set up. The portion sizes are super customizable. You can schedule up to 6 meals per day. I have it set up for 3 meals and a few snacks which is perfect for my high energy dog. I also have it set up to do smaller bursts at feeding time so she doesn’t gulp it all down at once. Food Capacity: The hopper holds enough dry food to last my dog about a week. I really appreciate the desiccant bag feature too—it helps keep her food fresh. Voice Recorder: I didn’t really think I would use this feature but it is fun. I recorded a 10-second clip of my voice saying, “Dobby, come have a snack!” and now she sprints to the feeder whenever she hears it. Power Options: It runs on a dual power supply—plug-in plus backup batteries—which gives me peace of mind if the power ever goes out while I’m away. I travel and go on a lot of day trips. The dog sitter can’t always come at the exact time our dog needs to be fed. This feeder ensures that my dog will always get her meals on time. Reliability: I've been using it for over a month now and it hasn’t missed a single meal. There have not been any jams, weird noises ot tech hiccups. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a dependable easy to set-up feeder, this is it. When we are out for the day or on a trip, it gives us peace of mind and keeps our fur-baby on schedule. We bought the white color and would 100% recommend it.

Convient but not easy to program initially
My cat is VERY food oriented but she’s also very playful. She was re-homed to us at about 1yo and rather skinny but she’s actually petite stature (dilute Torbie with def orange tabby genes lol). After we had her spayed she became even more food oriented and lately with weather change she’s been annoyingly beggy for food outside feedings. We limit treats to rewards for nail clippings of the m*rder paws and brush out sessions. Anyway, bought this feeder so she would stop begging for food all the time, especially middle of the night wake me up kinda begging. Free feeding was attempted before purchasing. Not her thing. Think she was used to having snacks through the day. Pro: works as it should; convenient; sturdy; lid locks in place; holds a lot of food; window to see food level; makes noise right before dispensing so your cat will be conditioned quickly; adjustable portion sizes per meal; up to 6 feedings per day; ability to slow dispense per feeding. Con: instructions aren’t that easy or clear if you’re not really tech savvy. I’ve had this for almost a year, I’m not stupid and can figure out most things but I still get frustrated/irritated every time I need to reset something (like removing a feeding, adjusting schedule etc). I haven’t changed the clock on it since going back to Standard time from daylight savings b/c I don’t want the aggravation:) Portions: just FYI it’s supposed to be 10g per portion and an active adult cat should get at least 40g/day from what I’ve read online. Kittens and senior cats require different amounts. Haven’t used the voice recorder and probably never will. Didn’t know there was a desiccant thing until after reading other reviews just recently. Also didn’t know you can get a 5g portion thingy to replace the 10g portion thingy that comes with this feeder. I may replace with the 5g because I’m sure the vet will say she needs to lose a few pounds. That way I can keep the same number of feedings (currently 4) with smaller portions. She also gets a small portion of wet food twice a day as well as scoops of vitamin/probiotic. Definitely recommend for price and capacity and convenience. Look elsewhere if ease of setup is a priority. Just my opinion

I haven’t tested long term but out of the box it seems FANTASTIC! There is a QR code which takes you to step by step videos on YouTube for setting it up. You can feed up to six meals a day and you can decide exactly when and how much it will feed. I bought this one to fit my cats very large TD dental kibbles. I also love the feature that it will play a voice recording you made each time it feeds, which will help reinforce the pets recal every single day!

Really great product. The timer set up is a bit fiddly but overall OK. Works well. Cat got used to it within a day.

Works great, you can set it & forget about it. It takes a lot of food in the storage part so no need to fill up lots of times - we got it so our cat would stop meowing early in the morning to wake us up to feed her which worked great! Makes going away a lot easier too.

I have two cats. Ones a grazer and one bolts her food like she won’t get a meal again in 100 years (and then often Barfs). I started out with one feeder, to make sure it gave the correct portion sizes and had enough options for me. Lots of reviews state that this is hard to program, which I could see it being confusing for sure. However if you have ever programmed a thermostat to have different temperatures during the day the setup of this is very similar. Just have to read the instructions clearly before beginning. This machine worked SO well I bought a second one to have in another room for my grazer, so she could at least have a fighting chance against the chonk. They are timed to release almost at the exact same time, the chonks feeder goes off about 30 seconds before grazers, giving her a chance to be distracted enough to not realize the other feeder has gone off. The results have been fantastic. Neither of them pester me for food anymore. It’s like I have been completely removed as provider so there’s no middle of the night wake ups or being hounded all day long. Chonk has lost at least a pound (a good thing) and grazer has gained a little (also good), and I can go for thanksgiving dinner with my family today knowing they’ll both get their dinners and be able to eat them without me having to monitor them. I never bothered with the voice recording, the tinkling of the food into the bowls is plenty sound enough to send them both galloping. I am using 5/6 of the feeding times which seems to be enough of a spread to keep them happy. The thing I found more complicated was figuring out how often and how much to feed a day, and making adjustments from what I found. At first I had their first feeding at 6 am, but apparently that was too late and I had grazer leaping all over me at @ 4:30-5 ish, so I moved the time back and viola. Little adjustments like that I made over the first week until everyone seemed to be getting what they needed (including sleep for me!) The portion sizes have always looked very consistent, but then I have medium to smallish kibble so maybe that is key. I highly recommend this feeder. I was at the end of my tether trying to manage bolters weight, while still trying to get food into grazer and worrying about her weight as well I was ready to start locking bolter up at night just so grazer could eat. The removable food dish is ideal and I wash them every couple of days in the dishwasher. If you find the metal is too loud it can be removed and the food falls more quietly into the plastic dish underneath, which is also washable. The lid clips in quite snuggly, neither of my cats have tried to get into or played with the machines but once the lid is in place it looks like it would stay there. It can be a bit tricky to line up correctly, but I find I only need to refill every 2 weeks so it’s not a constant problem. I would question whether the hopper can actually hold 4 litres but it’s sizeable enough that it will hold 2+ weeks worth of food at 5/6 feedings a day at single serving size. Slit for monitoring amount of food left could be bigger as it’s not immediately obvious and you really have to look to be able to tell but it’s not a big deal. Overall extremely happy with these machines and would buy again or recommend to a friend.

The features are as-advertised, except the plug-in power has been unreliable for me. It has a USB power cord but did not come with an Australian adapter. When plugged in without batteries, the power kept dropping out, including mid-distribution of food. This meant that the full portion size was not dispensed. Sometimes the power drop out was for long enough to reset the clock, and it had to be re-programmed to make sure food was dispensed at the correct time. Works fine with batteries in, but the power issue makes it less reliable for me and I don’t trust it to properly dispense food if I’m not home. I bought one to try it with the intention of getting two more if it worked (I have three cats). Needless to say, I will not be buying two more.
