The most sensible accessory for your axe.
I've been using high end mechanical strap locks for decades, i.e.: Dunlop, Schaller. I got sick and tired of picking my guitar up off the stand and having to unwind a twisted strap which I had been doing for hundreds of gigs. Not only do these keep the strap from coming off, the strap doesn't rotate around so when you put it down and pick it up again, the strap stays right where you left it. Not to mention the tremendous cost savings over the mechanical locks (I guess I just did mention it). I wish I had switch over to these years ago. Well, like my dad used to say, "Too soon old, too late smart".

Worse than useless
My experience with these locks are that they are worse than useless, repeatedly popping off when used with my leather guitar strap and Custom Shop Historic Gibson Les Paul. While using these locks I ended up damaging my Les Paul when the lock popped off and my Les Paul fell to the ground landing on my foot and knocking against my gear rack.I thought maybe these locks just won’t work with thicker leather guitar straps and the Les Pauls but then recently I decided to try the Fender made locks and they have worked far better. After a month the Fender locks have not popped off once. The company that sell this lock should either issue a warning with regard to use of this lock and/or revise the formulation or manufacturing process. It’s absolutely shameful to sell a product like this that lulls someone into a false sense of security. While I cannot undamage my custom Shop Historic Gibson Les Paul

Simple and effective
I have Dunlop strap locks on all my guitars. However, I recently acquired a cheap practice guitar with a somewhat loose-fitting strap, I didn't want to invest in strap locks until I got the guitar customize how I want it. I thus decide on these 'locks' as a cheap alternative to preventing the strap from coming off the strap button. I wasn't expecting too much, but I must say, they are simple effective. What more could you want? Nice, cheap, simple alternative. I like them.

I dig 'em.
These are a nice for adding a good bit extra security to your guitar strap without having to put new buttons on the guitar and try and force those clunky locks into the small holes on the strap.I have some guitars that already have the schaller-style locks on them. These locks don't work well on those. They buttons just aren't big enough to get a snug connection with the locks. However, I tried them on another guitar I have with standard buttons and I was able to support the guitar by one button on the horn alone. I wouldn't try swinging the guitar around your body with these, but I would certainly trust them to keep my instrument safe during a rowdy performance.

since they seem to have the best mechanism imo
I've been buying strap-locks for my basses since the second time a strap came off. Of course, I want my instruments to last, so I've been buying the Schaller ones, since they seem to have the best mechanism imo, for around twenty bucks. Until I recently saw a guitarist friend of mine using these. This is smart: the holes are small enough to prevent them from coming off from virtually any strap button I've seen, and the material is just flexible enough for you to struggle for a few seconds as you put them in, applying the kind of force you can hardly get by your instrument pulling down the strap. And, given that most strap buttons are shaped so that it's easier to insert the strap than to remove it, this will hold the strap in place. It will also tighten the strap so it won't be moving around the already small room strap buttons allow.I'm using one pair for now, with my new Marcus Miller by Sire bass. One of the heaviest instruments I've had, these keep the strap in place. See the pics of the strap lock alone compared to one installed. It's tricky to really see because the reflection from the strap button is deceiving and makes the button look smaller, but the button is pretty big compared to the strap lock hole. Also, keep in mind that if the strap lock is stretched from one side, say it's stretched from top to bottom making the hole vertically wider, by its own nature the hole, from left to right, will become horizontally narrower. So unless you pull at several directions at the same time, this won't come off.

An easy fix for most players
So you have a favorite old guitar strap that's getting a bit stretched around the hole? Or perhaps the angle of your strap button on the guitar doesn't quite match the direction gravity wants your instrument to hang? Squeezing these rubber grommets on over the strap adds a layer of security against dropping your ax on the ground. I've done those mid-air grabs a couple of times, but never once I've used these, everything else (guitar, strap) being the same. Are there other cooler, shinier alternatives out there, maybe more permanent? Sure, but they cost more and might require specific straps to work, unlike these low-tech fittings, and I'm not above appreciating a simple, effective and inexpensive .... dare I say "elegant" ..... solution to problems.

Really do hold the strap on to your instrument!
I was worried these would not do a good job holding my straps on my instruments. I've used a few different types of strap locks over the years but didn't want to have to add them to the body of my new bass. It is a VERY tight fight.I've tried them on my new Cort Premium series bass, my PRS electric, my Breedlove American acoustic. Each has a bit of a different strap button style. These are SUPER tight on each. They are not easy to get on and off, especially with a padded strap. So, take that into consideration.I was surprised how well they held the strap on. I think these will work nicely. I wouldn't fling my instrument around in circles with them (like you could with button strap locks) but for taking the instrument off and on on stage I think they will hold very nicely.

Do not work with thick straps.
I’ve bought it because I heard about the Grolsch red rubbers. They are similar but unfortunately, it doesn’t work at all with my four basses. My straps are too thick so I can’t even push those rubber strap lockers to fit.I’ve tried them on one of my guitar as the strap is thinner but it kept popping out rendering this product useless. As a plus, it looks to be a robust product but that’s it. I bought d’Addario’s plastic strap locks instead.

Easy fit, keeping guitar strap in place
As long as your guitar strap is not to thick these will fit well and keep the strap in place.
