Waking up from surgery can be scary if you have scarring. My left hand looked like a cross-stitch gone bad. Thanks to this product from NewGel, I can target the worst of it, as the hand itself continues to heal. Just cut off a piece that covers the scar, let it adhere for several hours (I apply it before bedtime), and let it do its work. I’m pleased with the results.

Ordered the silicone scar sheets created by MyNewGel as I have about a 5 inch scar due to a C-section and then a subsequent hysterectomy. As others have mentioned, this is a good quality product, the sheets are thick, and they seem to be better than those on the market. In this box, you will receive two eight inch strips of silicone. While they initially stay on, they do have a tendency to loosen their hold on your skin overtime. This can be frustrating as they need to be worn for a good length of time to see results. I would recommend this product, just be aware that you may need to repeatedly reapply so that they stick well.

As someone who use to ride dirtbikes growing up and now a mom via c-section 2 years ago, I have plenty of scars to test these out on. The box came with two 8 inch long strips of thick silicone with a nude color bandaid-like material on top and a clear backing. The front of the packaging advertises that it “Now includes: adhesive tape for longer hold!” But I was disappointed in the small strip of super thin clear tape that was placed in there. It felt somewhat unnecessary to me since the seller claims that their scar products must be used 24/7 for at least 3-6 months (based on new vs old scars) for results. The tape they threw in there will likely only last a week… if that. I chose to trim several inches off a strip for use over my c-section scar since I didn’t need that much extra on the ends. It’s decently sticky but was tricky to place over loose skin covered in deep stretch marks. I pulled the skin taught so the strip would lay flat. But upon standing, the strip became visually wrinkled and felt odd. The feeling wasn’t as noticeable though under clothing. It’s very important that the skin is clean, dry, & free of any oils or lotions before applying these, otherwise they won’t stick correctly. It’s absolutely vital that the tissue is HEALED before use in order to avoid risk of infection and other complications. After the first day of wear & then dropping it on the ground, it was easy to wash off with lukewarm water and gentle hand soap. I then laid it flat to dry overnight before reapplying. Since the process of fading this scar could apparently take between 3-6 months, I do not yet know the effectiveness of these silicone sheets. Since the effectiveness is still to be determined, I can’t speak on value just yet, but the price does seem fairly high for what actually comes in the box. I also want to note that the instructions say to discontinue use if the sheets start to deteriorate, so I don’t know how long these will last (especially with daily use) and how often they need to be replaced. They may last for the entire duration of treatment or need frequent replacement. I will update with the results as noted. *Side note: the pictures of results within the ad seem highly exaggerated and far-fetched which is giving me the feeling that this is too good to be true… but we shall see

I have an older scar on my neck from having a mole removed, so I trimmed a piece of the silicone tape to use. Since it’s on my neck, I’m not really worried about how noticeable it is, and I don’t really mind if someone happens to see it while I’m out. The recommendation is to wear it for about 6–12 hours a day, and the nice part is that it’s washable and reusable. As long as it stays sticky, you can keep using it, but after the first use, it loses much of its stickiness (it’s still usable, though). With a fresh piece, it adheres well for me, especially since the area doesn’t move excessively, but you do need to make sure your skin is dry and free of serums, lotions, and oils. . I haven’t had any irritation from using the scar tape. Because my scar isn’t new, I haven’t noticed any changes yet. Older scars can take up to six months to show improvement, and I’ve only been using it for four weeks so far. It’s pretty easy to use, the material feels high quality, and considering it can be reused, I think it offers good value.
