I measured a slope with stakes to 10.22% but this claims its actually 25 degrees while mounted on my tractor. Is this normal?

You are mixing up two entirely different types of slope measurement units. Slope expressed in percentage like your first number represent the rise over run times 100 for percent slope. The second number you expressed as degrees which is what this product displays. 100 percent slope is 45 degrees for example.

Is there a way to mount it temporarly? If my wife knew I was using it she would worry?

Don't mount it on your wife! Ha - just kidding! The Lev-o- gage uses peel-off double-sided tape which will hold it for a long time. My present one is on the dashboard of my old Land Rover, and has been for about three years. The FIRST one was on the cabin bulkhead of a 22-foot sailboat I owned, and never moved at all for years. You might try using some double-side tape of your own that you can apply OVER the tape backing already on the gauge. That way you could control how sticky it is and test it on your surface. Or maybe get some of those "markless" wall pads used to hang pictures without marking the wall, and comes off when you want. Enjoy!

Do you have a inclinometer that measures 0-15 or 20 degree's?
