Good braces to withstand the apocalypse
Back in the early 2010s I tried a bunch of different braces and settled on these. Felt great, helped a ton, and it's nice that they fit both hands. Cut to present day and I'm looking at the one my dog was chewing on that still works great, thinking about how they've held up for a decade and a half and realizing I should probably leave a review. Extremely well constructed and affordable. These things will last forever.

For both wrists, washable, works!
I ordered this one rather than any of the other options because the color more closely matched my skin tone, and because this could be used on both right or left wrists. Why I like this even more now that I have it is that the plastic and metal pieces that keep it rigid can be easily removed so that you can wash this. They have little slits for the plastic parts on the sides and there is an opening for the big metal piece that runs down the entire length of this that sits at the palm. It is very easy to get on and off by myself. It's comfortable (reasonably), and it keeps my wrist stabilized but allows me to use my hand. Typing and using a mouse is possible, it's not as quick as with it off- but you CAN do it. That is important to me because my job is mostly on a computer so I like that I can wear this when I am working (which seems to be pretty frequently!)

Best option I found for me, 5 stars if they used stronger velcro over the hand.
I've been buying Mueller's reversible wrist stabilizer for over 20 years. It does a great job stabilizing my wrist and preventing my ligament instability and tendonitis issues from progressing while spending all day on a keyboard. Which has held back carpal tunnel problems I was starting to have before I started buying them. I use my older worn out ones when sleeping which prevents bad positioning of my wrist or pressure from my hand under my pillow and what not from contributing to my problems. Wearing them loosely at night provides the stability I need without being overly restrictive with circulation or pressure pushing anything out of alignment when relaxed while sleeping. The Idea was recommended by a former chiropractor who has a double doctorate with sports medicine. (side note, had met someone who did 30 minutes to an hour of physical therapy like things to my wrists one night and didn't need the braces for 3 whole days at home and at work. So, don't skip out on physical therapy with stretches and full range of movement assisted exercises. I hypocritically need to do that myself) My only gripe is that they had fixed the velcro that goes around the middle of the arm. But didn't update the velcro around the hand which is the weak point for these. It is usually the first thing to start wearing out. If your like me and wrest the palm of your hand on things while typing, the palms will wear out next. But, I usually get a matter of years out of them so still money well spent. Tried other brands and left / right handed similar braces. Still prefer these myself and the reversible factor means I can choose for various reasons which one to use on each wrist for different circumstances. They did take getting used to when it comes to wearing them all day while on a keyboard and other activities. But that wasn't a big learning curve. I'm right handed and as such my right hand gets used more and has more ligament/tendon issues. I typically use the smaller size for my right hand as it makes using my ergonomic mouse easier. And the bigger size for my left hand for less restriction and not putting as much pressure on the velcro over the hand that wears out after a while.

Wrist Splint
Very easy to use and comfortable. Easy to put on with one hand and velcro closure or quality provides the perfect tension. The design allows to be used with either hand and the fit allows for stockinette covering over hand for added protection.

Can be modified without compromising the integrity of the body of the brace
I have wrists that measure within the s/m size but, because of swelling, my forearms never do. That's why I love these Mueller wrist stabilizers for nighttime. I get the L/XL size & adjust accordingly. The material that bridges the two sides of the brace on the top side is kind of stretchy & the strap that encircles the forearm not only stretches, but if my forearm is really swollen I can just use a large safety pin to pin it to the body of the brace at a more comfortable position. I've seen plenty of comments on itchy, rough &/or unpadded areas on these and plenty of other braces. Let me just say that most people will never find the 'perfect' brace for them, that's why you should think about modifications that don't compromise the integrity of the body of the brace itself. Not enough padding? Get either a cushiony Merino wool or cotton knee high sock (of course you'll need to make some cuts so you can use it like a glove - I just cut off the foot & use the calf/shaft area - and I cut a thumb slit about 2" down from the cut edge which is the narrower part) or some lambs wool stuffing - which you can find in foot care on Amazon. You can also use padded adhesive tape (first aid supplies), padded adhesive mole skin (foot care) or adhesive velvet sheets (arts & crafts). These items will also take care of any itchy or rough areas. The adhesive items can be cut to size and applied where needed. Make sure you pay attention to their thickness because If your brace fits just right using an adhesive item that's too thick will throw the fit off. If you need a little cushion for your palm you can use the toe area of the sock you cut up & stuff it w/cotton balls or lambs wool and then sew it closed. If you use lambs wool, or polyester stuffing (arts & crafts) you'll be able to hand wash it. Don't make it too thick or you'll throw off the correct angle that the brace is fixed at for your wrist. I use either a merino wool knee high/dress sock (longer calf area) when it's cooler & a high cotton content tube sock when it's hotter. I've also used a knee high compression sock when swelling is a problem. I don't cinch the brace too tight when I use socks because my hands go numb. I always buy men's socks for these applications because the calf/shaft area of the sock is always longer than it is in women's. Most any brace can be made more comfortable if you use your imagination & ingenuity to modify them with ordinary everyday items. Best wishes for a more comfortable brace!

Well made and comfortable (for what it is)
Well made and comfortable (for what it is), good price as well

Comfortable but not so well made
These are comfortable to wear - much better than the ones they replaced. But they aren't so well made. String from all over has started unravelling and it's a mega pain.

Surprisingly robust, comfortable
Very comfortable for a medium-sized hand (small wrists and thumb ball). I thought it would be difficult to sleep with this but have no problems at all. Has held up well for two years with frequent use.
