When I made it into a latte, it had a smooth, rich flavor with subtle cacao notes and a light, nutty finish. It wasn’t overpowering or bitter at all. I didn’t need to add a ton of sweetener either, which was a nice bonus. If you’re someone who enjoys matcha daily but doesn’t want to spend a fortune on ceremonial-grade powders, this is a great option. The price is acceptable, not so pricy. #2: Ippodo: $1.55/gram Size 20g Rating: 9/10 I have used Ippodo for very long time like 8yrs, very good matcha overall, but its very pricey to use daily. Earthy taste, sweet, Intense and complex with an unmatched bright rich green color. This is a limited use Matcha for me because of the price. #3: Aki: $.60/gram Size 50g Rating: 8.5/10 Beside 30g version, this 50g version from Aki brought me a surprise. Come with $0.60/gr I thought it was just good as mid-price range, but actually its super tasty as well. It's worth the hype in New York city! As a self-proclaimed matcha snob, I can be quite picky when it comes to matcha brands. During my trip in NYC, I bought a matcha drink from 5th ave nyc, saw the sign showed proudly served aki matcha...then I tried buying from amazon to make it myself at home. This matcha exceeded all my expectations! Their ceremonial matcha is top-notch and definitely lives up to its ceremonial grade. The bright green color and fine, silky texture indicate its high quality. When I took my first sip, I was blown away by the rich umami flavor and the absence of any bitterness.
