It is dishwasher safe, but normally, we recommend hand wash. Because the color may fades over time if we go with dishwasher clear.

Q: Is the removable storage bag sturdy enough to actually be useful?

The bag has alot of support from the wagon frame. We are able to store thermos type cups and other weighted items.

No, the plain wagon (without canopy) does not come with the attached basket. You would have to modify the leg or unpin the wheel and find a pneumatic wheel that fits inside the existing brackets
