I’m delighted with this singing bowl. It’s always a risk buying a musical instrument you can’t handle and hear first, but the risk paid off for me. It’s heavy and beautifully decorated all over and inside with what appears to be etching on the metal (not painted). It gives a lovely “pure” sound with long decay when struck or “stirred” for singing. I’ve never tried one before so I had to learn how to get the sustained sound but after about an hour I started to get the knack (which is a combination of speed, pressure and angle). It’s like learning any other musical instrument; you need some practice and I got some help from videos on YouTube. I would advise you to hold the bowl on your flat palm and remove any rings to avoid harsh buzzing when a ring makes contact with the bowl. One dodgy point is that the description makes the claim that this is hand hammered, which is the traditional method, but I see no evidence of this, so I feel certain it’s machine made. But that’s a very minor point because it feels, sounds and looks great.

Ich habe dir Schale nach dem Klang ausgesucht. Nicht jedes Produktvideo bietet ein Audio an. Aber der Klang ist so schön wie im Video und sie sieht auch gut aus. Das Singen, wenn man am Rand lang fährt, funktioniert auch gut. Es war ein Geschenk und ist gut angekommen.
