German shepherd happiness
Couple of supply chain issues with Amazon. Gonna try the regular Wellness for dogs. Itโs a little less money. Same brand. With research discovered both have similar nutrients. My guy gets regular organic food. Itโs like shopping for two people. From beef chop meat to streak, chicken, wild caught fish, and grown produce, rice, oats, etc. Anything a German Shepherd is able to share. In small amounts. Though we travel often enough requires a dry quality food since superfood wheat grass and protein shakes are not part of what a GSD could eat. Iโm grateful Wellness is able to continue producing food for dogs and cats. Even the cat food Iโve had to switch since their normal Wellness for indoor cats is far and apart available via Amazon. Switching now while I still have one bag will help the sensitive kitty adjust over a month. The dog is happy and healthy so hope Wellness can keep up with demand Update /\ First began having this delivered via PetFlow. When the company no longer carried the cat Wellness switched the food delivery to a different brand without asking we discontinued the service. My main concern with Amazon is quality. I've researched and found certain products made to sell here. Are different quality from the store but marketed as similar. Also, Wellness recently changed its packaging from zip closure to none and also the ingredients. Because we travel I need food for long-distance trips and needed a large breed of food that would care for my boy. Plus, a cat with stomach issues before adoption needed food that would nurture her sensitive nature. Curing her from vomiting and parking up her health. Then, a little buddy, 1/2 pounder, found at a Waffle House in the middle of the night. Switching to Amazon for delivery so far has proven a plus. Already set up for subscribe and save adding furry food was simple. The savings are like Petflow. I noticed the cat's fur is sleeker and they seem to wanna eat a little extra. The ingredients have not appeared to diminish as if read other people complain. Besides this, I share wild-caught sardines with all three. And, the dog gets all sorts of food I'm eating as well. Organic blueberries to organic bananas, meat, etc. The dry is a good staple that helps my boy appear to maintain a good weight, lovely fur, and omit quality of health. Super easy to feed during travel, too. A bag of the dog and the cat food fit in the storage containers bought together on wheels here. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ๐ฏ

Excellent food (made in the USA) and dogs love it!
My dogs love this food and it is made in the USA. I only buy pet products that are 100% made in the USA or in Canada. Be careful because some brands state "manufactured in the USA" which is a deceiving label because it means that the ingredients are probably from China (or elsewhere) and only baked/processed in the USA. I have researched many, many dog foods and settled on Wellness (and one other brand for occasional variety). This is how I conducted my research: My #1 and mandatory criteria is that the food is "made in the USA". If it's not made in the USA (or in Canada) then it doesn't matter what is on the label because you can't trust it. If a food is made in China it could have the best ingredients on the label - but again, you can't trust it (the label might say "no meat byproducts" but how do you know for sure?). In fact, I would rather feed my dogs a below-average brand that is made in the USA or Canada vs. a premium brand that is made in China or elsewhere. So that's why "made in the USA" was is #1 criteria. My #2 criteria are the ingredients. I'm looking for good protein (no meat byproducts) and minimal or no fillers (soy, wheat, corn, etc.). Wellness has excellent ingredients. My #3 criteria is price. While the price of this food is above-average, it's not the most expensive. And last but not least, my dogs have to actually like the food. I have tried other premium dog food brands (also made in the USA) and my dogs for whatever reason just didn't like the food and I would have to mix in ground beef, etc. to get them to eat it. With Wellness, they are happy when it's breakfast or dinner time and their bowls are always licked clean.

Best choice for our dogs.
We've used this food for many years with several Labs & a Golden Retriever. I've tried nearly every premium brand out there but this is our preferred choice. It's excellent quality, tastes good, & it keeps the dogs super healthy with good solid poops. Our two most recent dogs lived to 16 yrs.

About $2 a pound delivered, older dogs love it. Veterinarian recommended.
Great for older dogs, keeps the weight down. Our twelve year old 120 lb Black Lab/Water Buffalo (Great Pyranees) mix inhales it while our 7 year old Shepherd actually chews it. Our 2 year old GSD wonโt touch it. Thatโs โold dogโ chow. Caused more than a little gas at first, they both got used to it - thankfully, because we didnt - meaning their gut adjusted. Phew! (thatโs a sound of relief, not of, well, never mind). Happy with Amazon keeping price at/under $2 a pound delivered, other sellers - and Iโve looked, a LOT - charge more, much more. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS: Amazon is abusing the USPS with seriously oversize boxes and Iโm on a RURAL delivery route where they donโt HAVE the overside box trucks to carry the โmail.โ Iโve made a deal with the local Postmaster to just let me know when it comes in and Iโll pick it up - theyโre only 5 miles out - so as not to overburden our delivery folks. It would be NICE if Amazon had UPS or FEDEX delivering again.

HOLY BARFCICLES BATMAN!!! <may be misleading
So I have been on the Buffalo Wilderness bandwagon kick for about a year with my German Shepherd and I really didn't know what I was missing until I switched. German Shepherd dogs are notorious for having sensitive stomachs to particular foods, and let me tell you now, Buffalo Wilderness dog food is one of them. I have read site after site and post after post of people who are looking for a better food than buffalo wilderness for their GSD. AND THIS IS IT!!! so my experience goes a little like this... when I first got my GSD the breeder was feeding this dog Purina, PURINA? you say? yes, and not Purina one, the gigantic 100lbs bags of purina for $20. so after rescuing this dog from food hell, I brought her home and already had a big bag of delicious Buffalo Wilderness for large breed puppies waiting for her. when she first ate, she was excited about the food. but then she started to throw up after a few hours. not a big deal considering her GSD genetic code for sensitive stomach and mostly the fact that I didn't have any garbage dog food on hand to help wean her off of and slowly incorporate a more nutritious, balanced food for her. I gave it a few weeks, but my GSD was throwing up at least 2-3 times a week. so for about 2 months my dog was on the Buffalo brand before I started doing more research. as I was doing research, all I could find was people who loved giving their dog Buffalo Wilderness with life source bits. and it was hard to veer off of that trail considering that Buffalo brand is highly advertised as the best one and only dog food known to man. well this is incorrect. for the first year of my dogs life she had nothing but Buffalo brand dog food of different types to try and counter the barf attacks. after a while I started finding little bits of posts from people talking about Wellness dog food, and the funny thing is, they described my dogs situation to the last detail. and after I found it on Amazon, I was sold. so after the food was delivered, that night I started to slowly get my dog used to the food by following the chart provided on the back of the Wellness bag. and I have not seen my dog enjoy food more than the time she finally got something besides purina, YUCK! with the Buffalo food, she would be hesitant of eating food and would only eat maybe once a day and would do everything she could to stay away from the food and it became a chore to try and get her to eat. but the second I put a little bit of Wellness in her food, the world changed. she gobbled up her food, was excited about it and for one reason or another, has not thrown up once since she has been on it, we are about half way through the bag now and she is still excited to eat her food. she eats when she is fed now and doesn't pretend like it isn't there. this dog food has saved my dog the agony of heaving and more importantly, MY CARPETS. this dog food has been a godsend and I will continue to use it from here on out. look up Wellness dog food and how it compares to Buffalo brand if you want specifics

We love this food!
Short Version: Both of my dogs love this food, are extremely healthy, and have gorgeous coats. Long Version: We have a Lab mix who has always been extremely picky and difficult to feed, and we have a Newfoundland/Golden Retriever mix who has a very sensitive stomach. This dog food works amazingly well for both of them. Our lab eats 4-5 cups of this every day, and is always excited for a meal. Our newf has had very healthy and solid stools since we started him on the Wellness Large Breed Puppy food 2 years ago, and his stomach has continued to be perfectly healthy since we transferred him to the adult version a few months ago. Food time is their favorite time of day, and if you ask them, "are you hungry?" they will not stop harassing you until you start dishing it out. We love that the ingredients are high quality, we've had no health problems with either of them, they both have tons of energy, and their coats are so soft and shiny. I recommend this food to any of my friend who ever have food problems, or who are just looking for a high quality dog food. We have nothing but great things to say about this company, and we're sure that our dogs agree!
