The Word Rhythm Dictionary: A Resource for Writers, Rappers, Poets, and Lyricists

It’s an extensive book on not just rhyming words but on rhythmic patterns. I write songs and poetry and bought it to expand/improve how I’m writing. I’ve used rhyming dictionaries which are great but a lot of songs are great not because they rhyme but because they’re in rhythm which I didn’t really think about before. It’s definitely mostly for someone serious about improving their writing in any genre.

I bought this for my musician son. It is extensive and detailed and a big help with writing lyrics. I definitely recommend it.

This dictionary, which I have received just this week, encourages consistent metrics of a poetry line (including non-iambic lines). The words in general are longer words, and their use will increase one's vocabulary and the possibility of richer stanzas as a side benefit. The experience with the vendor was flawless, even though I somehow ordered from England without realizing it.
