Natural rubber... no slipping. Best mat ever

Mit dieser Yogamatte macht die Yogapraxis Spaß. Der Halt, selbst bei schweisstreibendem Ashtanga oder Powervinyasa Yoga ist perfekt und die Länge würde ich unbedingt empfehlen. Die Matte sollte jedoch auf keinen Fall in die Sonne, welches auch angeraten wird. Dieses habe ich ignoriert und nun musste ich mein 2.Modell bestellen, da die Oberfläche rutschig wurde nach einigen Yogastunden im Freien. Die Matte ist schwerer als andere und am Anfang kann sie nach stark Gummi riechen, etwa wie ein Fahrradreifen, dieses verflüchtigt sich aber bald. Kann die Matte uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

After 4 years of MUCH practice and many travels with my first "Harmony", it was time for a change. I tried a couple other mats and was continuously reminded as to why I practice only with Jade. The grip is perfect for hot yoga. The weight is perfect for not only going to and from various classes but also for travel. The durability makes this mat worth every cent. *** I still have my first mat and can very much still practice with it however, like I mentioned, I was ready for a change. Most importantly, it's thick enough to keep me "cushioned" but not too much where I don't feel "grounded". It arrived sooner then I expected... SO HAPPY!!! Oh! Yes it has a "new tire" kind of smell upon arrival but nothing a good airing out (over night) and a couple practices won't fix. Namaste and with MUCH gratitude...

Purtroppo non ha una custodia, è da prendere a parte. Si sporca facilmente e bisogna tenerlo pulito dopo le pratiche con un panno umido. Non puzza. Ha un grip allucinante.

TL;DR Fantastic mat I have always had a problem with hand and foot sweat which has caused many awkward fidgeting during poses. I have bought mats that have claimed to be "non-slip" and they have done the exact opposite. With this mat, although it is expensive, you can guarantee that you will not slip and is ready to use as soon as it arrives.

I've been doing yoga about 8 years and always used conventional PVC type mats. I decided to try a more 'upscale' (aka - expensive) mat this time and have found that it's worth the extra money because I get a better grip. Having a better grip is useful even in basic postures like "down dog" and surprisingly even seems to help my form a bit. This mat is definitely more 'sticky' than the mats I've had before. I find that the thickness and support are a good compromise between the softness needed for your knees and other bony spots versus the stiffness that's helpful when doing balancing poses. One issue that others have mentioned is the smell. Yes, this mat does have a distinctive odor that some may not like. Because it's made of natural rubber this is what you're smelling. At first it's very noticeable, but I laid mine out in the garage for a week so it could 'season' and dissipate the smell and this made a big difference. Now it still has the same smell but it's so mild that only the person using the mat would notice it and then it's a matter of personal preference as to whether it's a good smell or a bad smell. I'm OK with it and would happily choose this same mat again. Oh one other thing, the color . . . I got the Sedona Red one because I was tired of always having mats in the same color spectrum since most seem to be blue, green or lavender. I was concerned that it would arrive and turn out to be a really intense red that would be too bright, but it's a warm, comfortable red that looks great.
