How is the center conductor mated to the coax?

These come with a small brass pin that is crimped or soldered to the center conductor of the coax. It's about 1/4 inch long . Strip off about 1/4 inch of the foam around the center conductor and solder the pin on the center conductor. Then you push the pin and the foam up inside the main body of the SO239 till it bottoms out. Then put the wire shield around the outside and the crimp shield over that and crimp it. Then add the shrink wrap over that. If you are going to crimp the brass pin, make sure you have the correct tool as the tolerances are very close. If you solder it, make a clean joint for the same reason. (Be sure and put the crimp shield and shrink wrap on the coax before adding the SO239. Ask me how I figured that out.) rf
