Dangerous - Avoid
I have read several books on the behavioral sciences. Some of these are self-published, which is fine if the author is qualified/certified and experienced in their respective field. Immediately upon receiving this book I noticed there was no "about the author" section, so I went to his Amazon author page and found absolutely nothing regarding credentials, education, duration of practice, or anything else that would lend an air of authority. For all we know, he could have viewed some Google articles and compiled them into a 95-page summary which is completely absent case studies, parallel models, citations and references, or even a copyright page! As I peruse the other reviews for this book, it appears that most who have read it are unaware of what DBT therapy is and this book serves a poor introduction. Because of this, it is nothing short of dangerous, a second-person self-help book penned by an incompetent imposter.
