The Jimi Hendrix Record A Big Hit
I gave this album to my twenty-five year old grandson for his birthday and he said it was the best presant he's ever gotten. He loves vynal records and is a huge Jimi Hendrix fan. He called all his friends and had them come to the house to listen.

Gini Jimi live
Jimi is the greatest and his recordings at Woodstock show it. Considering it was recorded in 1969 the sound is fantastic.

Classic wonder
If your a fan of classic rock and Jimi in particular, this recording is for you. Rleased in recent years, it sounds great! This was Jimi at the top of his game just about a year before his death. The quality is outstanding and must be played at maximum volume. Jimi was truly a rock genious and you can hear it here. Must have for any Jimi fans.

Good Album With A Strange Problem.
Live At Woodstock is an essential purchase for Jimi Hendrix fans as far as my opinion goes. The double disc live album was recorded all the way back at Woodstock 1969 and is a great example of Hendrix playing at his best. The over all sound for the album is pretty clean and sounds great. It sounds better than the average rock album from the time period making it a much easier listen than most. One thing I have noticed though is that it seems that the percussion and rhythm guitar have been edited out of most of the album. You hear them at the start of the record and on a couple of other songs but for the most part all you get is the trio of Hendrix, Mitchell and Cox. It is a strange way to mix the album and will annoy some purists out there. It didn't detract from the experience for me, but it is a bit odd when you notice it.The actual set list is pretty awesome. You get great versions of the usual hits Fire, Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) and Purple Haze amongst others including Izabella and the now legendary Star Spangled Banner. If anything it proves to be a great compilation of his work and is benefited from the fact that it is a superb live performance.I personally would recommend this to fans of late '60s rock. It is hard, heavy, very bluesy and sound great. The missing band members is a bit weird but it's not bad enough not to warrant a purchase.

A slice of rock history
Having been fortunate enough to see Hendrix a few times, including the Isle of Wight just before his death, I had always intended to add this to my collection but not got round to it. But hearing "Star Spangled Banner" recently being played by a tribute band made me search it out. This is not a flawless recording. Like any experimental artist Hendrix tries stuff that doesn't always work. But what this has in spades is the feel of a man playing at the top of his game. And what a man. If you need an introduction to the greatest guitarist of all time then this isn't for you, maybe. Buy Electric Ladyland, for example. But once you have your Hendrix ears listen to this.

Hendrix on Fire!
This album is considered by many to be his best. Great set list on this re-mastered and expanded 2cd and very good sound quality considering the shambles that took place over the Woodstock weekend. A must have for all Hendrix and guitar lovers!
