I was shopping on Amazon, looking for an affordable and effective shampoo for my best friend (my dog), who was badly infested with fleas. I found Sergeant's Guardian Flea & Tick Dog Shampoo (Clean Cotton Scent, 18 oz), which was an affordable, fragrant, pH-balanced option that kills fleas, ticks, and flea eggs for up to 30 days while conditioning the coat. It is strictly for dogs and puppies over 12 weeks old; it is highly toxic to cats. The result was instant, and I can see the dead fleas as I massage my dog’s coat. However, you must keep in mind the following: • Crucial Safety Warning: DO NOT USE ON CATS. The ingredients, particularly Permethrin, are highly toxic and potentially fatal to cats. • Targeted Use: For dogs and puppies 12 weeks and older only. • Effectiveness: Kills fleas and ticks, including deer ticks, and kills flea eggs for 30 days to prevent re-infestation. No picture needed. Product worked great. For reference I do use flea treatments on my dog, although I’m not super fond of chemicals, so this might be a good alternative if you want to bathe your dog more. For my case, when my dog is coming inside he’s picking up a few extra from nearby overgrowth at home from neighbors and the surrounding area. Maybe the flea treatment isn’t working in the new area.. this worked wonders though. Completely clean, soft coat and smells good. Reduced itching and seems to work really well.
