Once again, it's MAKITA!!! Pricey but well worth it, the Makita EY402MP 10" Pole Saw Couple Shaft Attachment does not disappoint! As a homeowner tackling my own yard work, I've INVESTED in the Makita line, and I can confidently say it's one of the most heavy-duty and reliable pole saw attachments on the market. The construction is rock-solid, with a sturdy metal shaft and a robust coupling system that ensures a secure connection to my Makita power head. The 10" blade is perfectly balanced, making it easy to maneuver and cut through even the toughest branches. I've used this attachment to prune and cut down trees of various sizes, and it's performed flawlessly every time. The cutting performance is exceptional, with smooth, clean cuts that make quick work of even the most demanding tasks. The attachment is also surprisingly lightweight, considering its heavy-duty construction. This makes it easy to maneuver and use for extended periods without fatigue.

A well made tool as has been my experience with all things Makita. I use this with the Makita 40v power head and Makita extension pole for trimming back trees on my property line. I have not had any issues with its use in the 1+ years I’ve used it and I do not have any issues with bar oil leaking from the reservoir. One thing to keep in mind is this tool, with the power head is a bit heavy. Make sure you use the shoulder sling that comes with your power head to help steady the saw and reduce the fatigue from its use.

I already had a LXT chainsaw from Makita which I love, so I was a lot less afraid to buy this one. Makita quality is back once again. Obviously you need the other part for this to work since it's only the head of the tool. It comes with a Oregon brand chain and Oregan is really solid so I was very happy to see that brand with the Makita tool. It is not made for actual feel felling. It really is much better as a tool to cut specific branches that are hard to reach. It's also much safer than using a regular chainsaw and a ladder. Personally I set the power to maximum to avoid getting my chain caught and to ensure a clean, swift cut. Do not cut in an horizontal manner as you may get caught and will have a hard time getting out since the tool is basically on a pole. It requires very little lubricating oil. It's easy to set up ( it's basically regular chainsaw with a tightening screw ). It's rather light, but of course you may feel sore if you have to cut many branches in a day. For a few branches, it really is no big deal though. I wish Makita would offer a special case to store those tool extensions as there's nothing except the chainsaw cover that protects it.
