Gentle Heat for Arthritic Bones
My 17 year old cat is suffering from arthritis and is continuously seeking warmth. Since one of the places he enjoys most is the chair in my bathroom, I decided to get one of these pads for him. He loves it The pad comes in a vacuum sealed bag in a small box. I shook out the pad, but creases remain where it was folded. They'll probably come out with time. The pad is thin - I would definitely put it on top of a regular soft bed of some sort. Mine is on top of a large grey folded towel. It makes a slight crinkly sound when touched - my cat doesn't seem to care. When I first opened the package, there was a slight smell. I let the pad air out for a day, then inserted it in the folds of my towel. Now, as you can see, Simon has no trouble sleeping on it. It does not get hot like a heating pad, but offers a slight, gentle warmth. I would recommend this product.
