Original (RAS®) RoadActive Suspension 4611-HD | Fits Chevy/GMC 1500 1990-2024 | Chevy/GMC 2500 & 3500 1973-2010

I gave it a few months and trips before I left a review. I have a 23 Silverado 1500 with a 5.3. I pull a 37 foot travel trailer. With the distribution hitch this system helped my ride about 60%. Now I just got back from Utah, pulled a 3,000 car trailer with a 4,000 pound jeep wrangler. Ride was so comfortable. Could barely tell the trailer was back there. This system is awesome. Put this on a 2020 Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss. Double Cab, 4.3, 6L80, 4x4. To preface, all hardware comes loosely installed. I had no missing parts. It’s worth the money if you don’t want to go with helper bags. It’s a poor man’s overload spring and is worth every penny. No squat. If you’re towing ANY kind of trailer, especially with the trail boss suspension, buy it. If you don’t have a sway bar, buy it. If you DO have a sway bar. Buy it. First off, this was extremely easy to install. The instructions were clear and concise. I was done in 30 minutes. Ride quality with no trailer is unaffected (weird, but I’ve put thousands of miles on this truck since install), and the rear ride height was raised by 1”. Even hauling a single axle enclosed trailer, you can tell the difference. It’s soft when you need it to be. It doesn’t squat under load. It does the job it’s intended for, and does it extremely well. I combined this with the Hellwig sway bar kit, and let me tell you…Chevrolet needs to pay attention and take notes.

Very easy to install. Works very well. Truck termite planted to the ground and feels stable. Reduced my squat.

Weary about the price, but worth it. If you have a GM with a Rough Country lift, then you already know the rear block setup with the secondary clamps robs you of a couple inches in height. Not to mention GM is skimpy on the leaf springs to begin with. I DON'T TOW ANYTHING. I am a mobile DJ, and usually carry around about 400-500 lbs of gear in the bed of my truck. So, for a couple years the rear end was 2"-3" lower than the front. I tried air bags, and didn't work well. In fact, I still have the airbags installed, just haven't removed them yet. THIS RAS SUSPENSION kit fits the Rough Country rear blocks (Which was my selling point). And also ironically fits with the airbag system. The truck even RIDES BETTER! I literally installed this kit in my slacks and Santoni shoes, 2 hours before going to the office on a Tuesday🤘😆

I no longer have to wait until the suspension flutter is over until my input (braking, turning, accel). Now I can do all of these while in a g-loaded turn going over bumps. I could never do that safely before. I am amazed. Some people might complain it makes ride less comfortable, but that's the point. We want to feel, and react to the road. Also feels great towing, which is a large part of why I got it. Only grandparents want to float over the road, change my mind. I feel safer with this upgrade, too.

Works as advertised, easy to install, extremely pleased! Put on Chevy Silverado 1500 with tow package. Made a huge difference while pulling our Tracer 308BH camper!

This is a install review. Yes it is mostly easy but the instructions and online videos are NOT good. They do not show clearly how the loop over the rear leaf springs should look. Very generic instructions mostly for Ford and H/D trucks. When you place the clip over the rear leaf spring coil it will NOT sit all the way on, and has about an .25" gap. looks like if you had a clamp it would "clip" into place. I called RAS with NO luck as they are EST and I'm west coast so anything after 3pm no good. After some extensive research I decided to tighten the spring, only then did it pull the clip snug and proper. If they had explained that it would have saved me a good hour and a smashed finger. Once I use them towing and gener ride quality I will update.

Working great on my 1991 suburban, with a 1986 gmc corporate 14 bolt axle, and 56” leaf springs.

RAS has been installed, so far everything is excellent. No more air bag hassles. RAS is maintenance free.
