I was advised to get some kind of anti-radiation headphones. There is some controvery that the use of bluetooth and wired headsets and cell phones can contribute to physical changes in your brain and hearing. You can read all about it online on your own, but I am here to tell you about the quality of these headphones (earbuds, actually). Doing some research, the DefenderShield seemed like a good choice. It was designed by a telecom engineer, and audio quality is a big deal to me. The reviews were pretty good, too, so I took a chance and bought them. When I got them, I anxiously hooked them up to my laptop and opened iTunes to play some songs and test them out. I was expecting a real hollow sound, but BOY was I surprised!The bass response was excellent, as was the treble. I even compared them to my Sennheiser earbuds, which now sounded tinny compared to these. Now there's one caveat. You have to remember that this is different technology than traditional headphones/earbuds, so some songs do sound a bit hollow but it really wasn't too bad. I even went as far as to order another brand of anti-EMR earbuds to compare......and they were horrible! Those were very hollow-sounding, but they were half the price, too. You get what you pay for. Downsides. I can only think of one, and it's similar to other reviews. The earbuds do fall out more easily than traditional ones. BUT...these come with 3 sizes of rubber ear adapters. Try all three. Also, the right size can make a difference in the sound quality, so do try all the sizes. To sum it all up, don't even think twice about this. There is a reason they are almost double the price of all the others; they are the best. Just get these. You won't be disappointed. And you'll be saving your brain from all that EMR.

I was really surprised by the sound quality of these air tubes. I decided that brain cancer sounded like no fun, so I dumped my Apple AirPods and bought these instead. As a farmer, there are certain activities during which I couldn't hear my podcasts, even with the noise cancelation activated; I always had to pause it. The DefenderShield earbuds aren't really easy to pause with my numb, calloused fingers, so I just let them play the first time for all of the activities of the day. For the most part I could hear every word! They do tend to fall out on occasion when I'm leaning over or chewing. But if I steam up the bud with my breath, they pop right back in and stay there. I LOVE how they don't require a battery to work. I can listen all day long without needing to recharge them - not true of my AirPods. Those were only good for a couple of hours and then I had to come inside and let them charge. Boo. So far the wires/cables seem strong and sturdy. I'm hoping these last quite some time, because otherwise I'm really happy with them!

Weirdly painful. All options provide a poor fit, which leads to it being very easily prone to being broken - poor design. This has happened twice now (once during sleep) within a couple months. And there's no coming back from it (low value for money as a function of time). I'm now looking into buying it a 3rd time for the sole reason that their only competition as of yet is even less hardy (though I can buy two of them for the price of one of these). Overall I'm quite unhappy with the lack of options/alternatives, and I don't see how this company will self-motivate to improve its products without competitive pressure. The sound quality (while it's working) is nothing to write home about. Anyone reading this probably knows already, but just in case: headphones that reduce or eliminate electromagnetic radiation (EMR) exposure are really important for long term health. Radiation takes many forms, like wifi (multiple generations), cellular (multiple generations like 5g, 4g, 3g, etc.), and Bluetooth (low range but high power, also multiple generations) being among the readily measurable radio frequency (RF) forms that we are all exposed to in multiple overlapping forms every single day. Radiation is bio-accumulative, so very much like air pollution or water pollution, electro pollution is also something that we can never completely avoid but every effort we take to reduce exposure IS worth taking. This is even more true when there are children or babies in our households, with nervous systems that are not yet developed and are therefore forced to try to develop WITH these new, unstable, partially overlapping fields of electrical and magnetic energy. In my case, this is even more relevant and I'm more sensitive than most, having been exposed to very high levels of dirty electricity (also easily measurable with a Greenwave meter, this form of exposure is essentially identical to electrical fire risk as it comes from poorly maintained wiring and unhelpful equipment like cheap led lighting or dimmer switches). Not only am I a holistic therapist trained to identify environmental triggers for sensitivities, but also in my personal case, after identifying the issue to my landlord with very clear measurements, he actively mislead me re his intention to fix the issue! The result has been exposure to 3 years of levels of dirty electricity ranging from 400-1500mv every day from every outlet (< 50mv as considered low, and > 250mv is considered "extreme"), and even visible arcing electricity coming from certain outlets, and that's *after* he supposedly grounded the 8 ungrounded outlets in my apartment. If you are in San Francisco and you are or were a tenant of John Beattie, or you want to know if your landlord is also a part of this problem, you're welcome to contact me or the local Rentboard or the Tenants Union and I will try to help or direct you a service that can help. Slumlords contribute to this problem growing instead of lowering, despite the well known harms. I suggest searching online for the online EMF Hazards Summit for the latest research summarized in helpful form for everyday people by internationally renown speakers. When I first bought these, I was impressed by the sound quality. I gingerly kept them at bedside for use at bedtime, never in a purse or for travel. First time, one speaker died within a year, and it was dutifully replaced by DefenderShield. Then, once again, one of the new speakers died, but about a month after it's 1 year mark. I spoke with their (then gracious) customer service, and was impressed that they readily waived that month. The Rep said the replacement would also come with its own full year warrantee. But after only 7 months, the new EMF protecting cord-covering started separating itself from the cord, making an exposed loop that got larger every day. Then an entire ear-speaker popped off in my ear from the tube, with no way to solidly secure it back, followed by yet a third speaker fail. Not sure how long the control bar had been unresponsive as I hadn't even used it yet, but it was useless. It was laughable how flimsily this was put together. This was with careful, moderate use for a couple hours at bedtime! I called customer service about this, sent photos, and this time was told (rather rudely) that since the last Rep had waved a month, they had been wrong to include a warrantee on that replacement. I tried pointing out the poor business of recanting, especially when clearly there's an issue with their speakers (see other reviews) and with quality control, and all I wanted was what I'd presumably paid for originally... a headset that didn't die around the 1 year mark. But he didn't budge. Rather, he told me to look for when they had a sale. LOL. That'd be like spending $87 annually for a headset subscription. Careful with this purchase friends, unless you're ok with that. The sound quality is good (would've been a 5 star review) when both speakers work. So when the speakers have sound, the protective wire covering isn't spontaneously unraveling, the ear-phones are attached to the tubes, and it's not dangling from one of your ears, and the control bar does something, they're great. There's literally nothing left to fall apart.

I have purchased several pairs of these headphones specifically to protect myself from EMF/radiation from my cell phone. The only draw back is that the wire catches on everything I walk past and rips them out of my ear and phone. Then, they quit working rather quickly. I understand they are wired and I prefer that. Just wish there was a way to keep them from grabbing every knob and item in my path.

I got this product because I needed another set of earbuds for my iPhone. I got a wired set, but was surprised that I needed to enable Bluetooth to use it, so I went looking for a set that wouldn't emit EM radiation close to my head. I chose this because I liked the size of the little speakers that that are mounted between the air tube and the electrical cord. Having tried it, I'm surprised at both the quality of the sound and the available volume. You obviously don't want it too loud because it could damage your hearing, but from my perspective, the volume capacity is there. Even though they're marketed as a way to avoid EM radiation, they seem to work BETTER than the standard wired earbuds that I've tried. They work WAY better than the wired model that required Bluetooth. There is a caveat. As you know, Apple in their infinite wisdom decided to do away with the standard headphone port, so now they only offer the lightning port. These earbuds REQUIRE a standard headphone jack, so I also ordered a lightning adapter from UGREEN. These two devices work perfectly. When I first plugged it in, I got a message on my phone saying "Hey, what did you just plug in? Is it a pair of headphones?" I don't know what that was about, but I clicked yes, and the thing works great. Sound quality is great, sound volume is great, phone operation works great. Awesome. Oh, and there's that thing about not having EM radiation close to your head. It came in a very nice case and a few sets of "sport" earbud adapters, and three pairs of adapters in different sizes - it that silicone-like padded part that helps the earbud fit snug in your ear. I couldn't figure out how to use those, but maybe you can. It worked perfectly right out of the box.

I've used 3 of them in few years and I gotta say the music quality is 10/10 but every 3 sets I've had did not last more than 1 year. The rightside control unit cuts the wire inside after few months. What they need to do is get rid of that stupid clunky control unit so its more comfortable and it last longer!!! The price is too high for what is right now and I refuse to buy another pair. At this point I am done with this company that sells overpriced product but offer subpar earphones, I only used it due to sound quality and I couldnt find better EMF free earphones at the time, but now there are some alternative options that I am willing to try for $30-$50. This product is made in China as well its not even made in USA that's why it has so many flaws and super expensive.

I love these, as I'm very conscious of how radiation can affect the human body. The air tube stereo does not affect the sound quality or clarity. It has different size covers for over the ear buds so it's compatible with most ears. My first set lasted a solid 5 years before I lost them so I expect nothing less from this set.

Sharp clear sound. No magnets in the updated versin I received. So nice to listen to music without being electrocuted with toxic radiations. I highly recommend these earphones!

Damaged after less than 1 year, and I only used it occasionally. Also, I always stored it in the casing provided. There was totally no sound on the left tube, and overall sound quality is muffled and unclear. Unreliable product.
