Ticonderoga Wood-Cased Pencils, Unsharpened, #3 H Hard, Yellow, 12 Count

I taught school for many years and these were the best wooden pencils. The lead didn’t break as quickly as other pencils. These sharpen to a nice point also. I went through a lot of other brands that did not perform as well as these. Lots of money wasted on pencils that the point would fall out after sharpening.

Prefer #3 pencils because of the hardness but cannot always find them in retail. These are excellent pencils at good price and great delivery time.

The pencils finally arrived. And they work just as expected. Ticondergo is a well-trusted brand. however, having them ship through Amazon was a pain in the butt! If you can find it in person, I would recommend that. It isn’t worth the hassle of expecting it to be delivered via UPS/Amazon. Plus, if the package is dropped or handled poorly, the lead inside will break. And the wasteful packaging - don’t get me started! One of my poorest experiences ordering on Amazon. Original Review: The pencils are poor quality. They are highly unusable because they don’t exist. However, they are nice though ergonomically, because they're as light as air! If you suffer from over-use syndrome these are the pencils for you! I expected to have the pencils in time to be able to use them. I was happily surprised by the one day shipping and jumped on it but it did not matter because the pencils never arrived even though one day shipping was offered. The seller claimed that the pencils were delivered to a secure location…which is clearly back at the Amazon warehouse. I'm extremely disappointed in the poor service and deceit - if a company cannot deliver then they should not advertise it. So I’m giving this one star because the pencils are literally non existent and false advertisement is annoying. They should mark this as zero pencils because that’s what you’ll get. I can't recommend buying this product on Amazon and I recommend buying from a reputable brick and mortar store like Walmart or Target or 7-eleven.

A pencil is a pencil. But the HARD lead pencil offers many advantages, particularly to an outdoorsman. Ballpoint and soft pencil writing gets washed off and blurred when wet, but the #3 pencil imprint stays put. Imagine leaving a note on the path describing where you are going and rescue folks can't read it because the paper got wet. Also #3 pencils do not have to be sharpened as often and last longer. Old school product, but I still use them and carry them hunting, camping and hiking. Even a stub of one can write. Wouldn't happen often but a pencil could save your life in the mountains.

I have been using these for years, they are by far my favorite pencils to use. I use a decent amount of pressure when I write, sot he #3 is by far the best option for me. It holds up to the way I write without breaking, and yet is still dark enough to read well. The harder the lead usually the lighter the writing is. The #3 pencils also are much cleaner to use, does not leave all the dust on the page when writing, drawing, etc. The other thing that I consistently see with these is that the leads are seldom broken inside the pencils, unless I buy them at Wal-Mart. Which means, perhaps they are getting the ones that fail for less money? Who knows...could also just be a coincidence. I also like that the erasers on these pencils actually work very well, which is unusual for pencils. And, since the lead is harder, these work very well on lumber for construction / carpentry projects. Leaves a nice fine line that easily erases.

Only pencil brand I will use! Sturdy, writes well and we bought alot of these for school donations!
