I buy a lot of products on Amazon, and even when the quality is not great, I normally don’t bother leaving a negative review. But this skipping rope is so poorly designed that I feel I have to say something. To be fair, if you are one adult user with a suitable height and only need to set it up once, it may be less of an issue. But I bought this for my teenage kids, who are of perfectly reasonable height, and the rope still needed adjusting. That is where the poor design becomes really frustrating. It comes with two ropes, but both are exactly the same length, which makes no sense. It would have been much more useful to provide one longer rope and one shorter rope, so users would have more flexibility. The product claims to be adjustable, but in reality the adjustment range is very limited because of the weighted part in/near the handle. To get the correct length, you basically have to cut the rope yourself, which is inconvenient and not easy to do properly. Even worse, once the cable bends slightly, it becomes extremely difficult to insert it back into the handle. Although it has a rotating mechanism, if the cable touches the inside wall of the handle, it still gets tangled very easily. The whole adjustment and skipping experience is frustrating and badly thought out. Overall, this is one of the worst-designed products I’ve bought on Amazon. I would give it zero stars if that were an option. I would not recommend it at all.
