Super easy setup, and easy to use. Unlike the previous digital indoor/outdoor thermometer, this unit includes time of day, resets the min/max temperatures. The wireless link between outdoor sensor and indoor base unit is rock solid, mine is about 25 feet, unit specs claim 300 feet, I didn’t try it as I am one to not fix what is working. I’m in hopes this unit lasts longer than the previous one (different brand) but we shall see. Can’t comment on battery stamina, haven’t had it just a few days. All in all, satisfied with this purchase.

Well, I'm not thrilled with this experience. I received the product today, and the factory packaging had already been opened. All parts were there, though, so I followed the set-up procedure per the on-line manual, since the tiny insert in the package was sparse on information. I used a brand new set of batteries for both the station and the remote sensor, and performed the reset procedure as well just to be sure, since the pkg had already been opened when I received it. Station worked like a dream. Sensor, not so much. The station display showed 5 bars for the remote sensor, but reported a 52F temp, even though the sensor was still inside the apartment, about 15-20 feet away from the station. The sensor reading also showed a low battery indicator, even though I used new batteries and double-checked the polarity when I installed them. I changed out the batteries of both station and sensor for another set of brand new batteries...same problem. Since the factory packaging had already been opened when I received the product, I'm wondering if I was sent an item that had already been returned to the vendor as defective. I contacted Amazon customer support, they walked me thru the set-up and agreed it was done correctly, provided a return shipping label for me to return the defective product, and are shipping out a new one. Once received, I will update my review based on the performance of the new device. UPDATE: Rcvd new device, experienced same temperature reading problem. After further experimentation, discovered that neighbors in adjacent apartment have the same electronic thermometer, and mine was pulling in their outside reading, which explains why I was getting readings of 52F for an outdoor reading even though the sensor was still inside where the temp was 70F! Ended up keeping both and will use one in another location. Definitely serves its purpose.

First off, this La Crosse Tech indoor/outdoor thermometer is absolutely a five-star product. I love it! I have no way to confirm the precise accuracy of the temperatures shown, because this is my only digital thermometer. However, I CAN go online to confirm the time, and I can attest that, after two days, the clock is accurate to the SECOND. A good sign, I guess, for the accuracy of the temperature readings. I'm not really writing this review just to give the La Crosse "temperature station" another 5-star product review, since it already has quite a few of those. I wanted to mention one very exceptional customer service rep, Lisa. Lisa was crucial to my experience, because the first unit I received was defective, and I needed help. The initial response was not great, and I complained, so I was kicked up a notch to Lisa. The thermometer is great, but my experience proves that it is not impossible for defective units to be shipped, or for good units to be damaged in shipping; so, if you order this, test it immediately; and, if it doesn't work properly, call customer service at La Crosse. If you have difficulties with that, insist on Lisa. LISA. I had a VERY problematic case, and Lisa put out a VERY significant effort to resolve the problem. There were several problems [like the first replacement having been, allegedly, delivered, but not to me], but La Crosse was only responsible for the initial problem of having sent out a product that was defective, or maybe damaged in shipping. Even for the package that I never received [which I know was sent, because I tracked it], Lisa sent out another. She had it tested before shipping. They even tossed in new [I guess they were new] batteries. Not possible to ask for more. So, the La Crosse temperature station is great; and, if there is a problem, and if you can reach Lisa, all will be well, and you will know the time to the exact second, and [presumably] the temperature, inside and out, to the exact tenth of a degree. Also, a minor thing, but kinda cool: The display can get signals when it's 30 feet away from the transmitter. Five stars for the thermometer, fifty for Lisa.

I Really Like This Thermometer System, It seems to be very accurate, very easy to read, Has a light when needed, has heat index, indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity indoor and outdoor, Cloudy or Sun or Rain with cloudy symbols.

This is very easy to set up and I refer to it every day.

I expected more from La Crosse. The unit and external sensor disagree on the current temperature by over a degree and differ from my thermostat and another thermometer by 2 degrees. My intended use is only for me to judge if it’s too cold outside for me to go kayaking but I do expect 2 sensors from the same company somewhat agree and to match closely to other known accurate thermometers.

I use this for measuring the temperature in my kitchen while making bread and keeping track of the temperature in my outside vegetable storage bin. It works well. My dough rising is far more consistent due to the accurate temperature tracking and I'm able to monitor the temperature of my "root cellar" improving the storage condition of my potatoes, carrots and onions. As the display is not backlit it is a little dim but that isn't a problem for me. I'd buy it again.

Its relatively small footprint fits well on a busy bench top or book self allowing easy temperature readings. The range of the outdoor wireless sensor is amazing. We put it in our outdoor gazebo to allow us to check temperature and comfort levels particularly on those hot summer days!
