Honest Review for MIKO 3+MAX

I bought this under the pretense this is a modern, educational, AI, interactive smart device for my daughter who is intellectually inclined. This is essentially a Virgin Mobile grade Android phone from 2010 they have deconstructed and placed on wheels with a housing unit that resembles a robot. The screen resolution isnt bad but it's 2021 so kids aren't impressed by lagging touchscreens and minimal brightness with no control. Far from 1080p and that was polarized while attempting a "video call". Absolutely awful performance. Cringeworthy at times. The MIKO3 does NOT roam freely and barely executes the stiff robotic movement patterns it's programmed to do. It does not follow, come to you, or walk alongside you in any way. Misleading in that aspect as the commercials, seminar speeches, and YouTube advertisements depict this as a "high end" educational companion. Nothing on this is HIGH end except the priceThe content doesnt even compete with ABC mouse and I would argue there are more beneficial educational apps for FREE on both Apple and Android platforms.Without the capability of continued conversation enabled in the interaction of MIKO3, this doesn't even perform as a simple search companion and often failed to recognize clear, well pronunciated, complete sentences. The responses are not witty, cute, or informational and almost every response was dismissive to quite honest.Simply ask MIKO "would you like to play" and tell me what happens? .....I'll wait here.At times I was completely shocked at how little effort they put into the experience of this and would recommend this to absolutely NOBODY with a child looking for a fun educational personalized experience. This is a KNOCKOFF cheaply designed less interactive "Moxie". Returning mine ASAP.Miko has been issued an eviction from our home and hearts unfortunately. Great concept, poor execution in so many ways.

Inaccurate and misleading advertising, STAY AWAY

EDIT 2: It costs like 35 dollars to ship this thing back but if you contact Amazon with the receipt they will refund you.EDIT: After further testing of this product, I've come to the conclusion that the advertisement is intentionally misleading and Miko 3 does not perform actions nearly similar to what is shown and promised. Miko does not respond well. Miko does not recognize you by your face or voice. Miko does not follow, or play hide and seek. The most movement you will get from Miko 3 is a very minimal back and forth dance. Voice commands often won't respond or are the answers are wrong in general. Tablet functionality is slow and doesn't work well.. Skip this low-grade tablet with wheels and get something else.ORIGINAL POST:We just received miko 3 in the mail a few days ago and I just got around to setting it up and I messed around with him for a few minutes. Let me first say that I do think this is a great gift and fit for my 8 year old daughter. I think she's going to have a blast with it when she receives it on Christmas and I do plan to write a updated review after she gives her response to Miko. That being said, the videos are a tad bit inaccurate and don't portray the product completely. Yes, it does have plenty of games and apps to keep a young mind entertained, but it's limitations are very obvious to anyone over the age of 12. Miko 3 DOES NOT respond seamlessly as advertised in the videos. If you want a honest comparison, it's more like a Google home with a face and body. The tablet functionality runs a bit slow and I'm not sure if the voice features are even up to par with your standard Google home. After the updates I ran a few tests and noticed a bit of a lag with the tablet functionality just by navigating the menu. No apps have been used, and it's concerning that the software is having difficulties just browsing the menus, let alone running applications. Once again though, no apps have been used and I will update this review as Miko 3 is utilized to its full potential.Voice responses are not too good. I was under the impression that miko would respond when asked a question, but most of the time he would not acknowledge. I asked a few basic questions, and he did quite well. He understood math equations and told me the weather. I decided to ask a bit more complex question, which planet was the coldest in the solar system, and though Miko did understand the wording (as prompted on the screen), he started telling me the weather of a random town in Oklahoma instead. So far I'm not completely sold on Miko 3. It seems as though the marketing was a bit misleading and Miko isn't completely up to par on the voice functionality. Miko is like a child's version of a Google home, if you replaced Google with Bing instead.I'll be sure to update more as Miko 3 is utilized. Miko did arrive in a timely manner and his movements work well. I do like the design, though i with the face had a tilt function. The only disappointments are the voice functions and tablet speed. It seemed to be advertised as a cute little friend my daughter could have funny banter with, but it seems like it will be able to only answer trivial questions at best with no seemlessness, making Miko 3 come off as more robotic than an actual playmate.

Such a disappointment

I bought this for my 8-year-old son for Christmas. I was very disappointed with it, so I am returning it ASAP (I believe you will also pay for shipping to return it, by the way). I cannot agree more with the other reviews about the fact that this is pretty much a tablet on wheels. The commercials I saw, and the introductory video posted on youtube were all misleading. Maybe this would be a good gift for a small child (3 or 4-year-old), but the price is not compatible with what this robot offers. You can buy a tablet and download educational games for your child for way less than this price.
