Holy Land Market Unisex Genuine Leather Biblical Sandals (Jesus - Yashua) Black Style I

I will have to admit I am a somewhat stringent critic. However I am totally impressed with these sandles. The quality of the leather is superb and the craftsmanship is spot on. These aren't made by just anyone they are made by skilled hands. The size is just a tad small. I usually wear a size 8 and sometimes 81/2 in certain brands of running shoe. I got the size 39 and my longest toe just touches the stitching near the end. My foot fits completely on the shoe bed but the stitching against my toe is a slight bit annoying at first. The leather, yes real genuine leather, and a bit stiff but is of good quality and expected to be a little stiff during the break-in period. If it was too soft to begin with it would stretch far too much to ever be comfortable when broken in or in some cases may not stretch at all because as I understand it to get a soft leather it must be stretch before product is made. However it is not so stiff that it's uncomfortable. They are comfortable straight from the package. If you think they are too stiff you can do what I did with another style I bought from the same company. I soaked them in Neadsfoot oil (when I say soaked I mean covered them until the oil was almost dripping, waited a couple hours then worked the leather back and forth for a few minutes then soaked them again and placed each inside a separate old sock for three days then removed the sock, added more oil and worked again then wiped off all excess oil. If you try this and find they are still not as soft as you like you can repeat this process as many times as you like. This is the same oil that professional baseball players use on a new glove. It's made explicitly to soften leather and will not harm any leather. It may however darken the leather somewhat but not harm it. If you find that they are stretched and the straps are too loose you can wear them into the shower then let them dry and this will cause the leather to shrink. These sandles are an excellent buy at a much higher price but I'm happy for the price I paid. I have gotten compliments every time I wear them and am asked where I purchased them. You don't see them often as a matter of fact I have never seen them anywhere else and was eager to get them thinking that the price might raise. I am definitely going to order a couple more pairs and a couple in different styles because anything this good can't stay at this price.

I’ve never bought from Holy Land Market before and I was suspicious at first because of the low price. I mean, really low price! I didn’t see how these could be real leather for that price. I’ve paid more for leather shoe cleaners before! But I sure am glad I went ahead and ordered them. I love them. They’re really cute and very very well-made. Also, unlike many recent sandal purchases I’ve made from Amazon, these came packaged in a really nice box with tissue paper around them, the way shoes are SUPPOSED to be packaged. I highly recommend these Holy Land sandals! All of the sandals offered by this seller look just as cute and strappy as these. NOTE - Just for packaging reference: The following has nothing to do with seller, Holy Land Market. I’ve already said that they sent my sandals using great care with their packaging practices. These last paragraphs describe the way my last three [3] pairs of sandals came packaged. This is simply a real-life example of WHAT NOT TO DO when packaging an item for shipment. In the past month, I’ve received 3 pairs of sandals that were so poorly-packaged that the sellers had no business shipping them. They arrived in plastic wrap, inside of an Amazon plastic bag/wrap. (Even though this paragraph is intended to compare packaging practices, I still have to ask you to keep in mind that I paid much much more for the 3 pair of plastic sandals I’m currently discussing than I did for the beautiful, leather Holy Land Market sandals!) The outer packaging was destroyed just trying to get inside to the sandals because someone had taken clear shipping tape and gone around and around the outer plastic bag, to basically create a clear “coat of armor” that had to be cut to get into it. So obviously it was destroyed, as well as the Amazon bag with the tape wrapped around it. Now if I choose to return them, I don’t even have a bag to use for a return. Shame on all of them. I wish I could call out the sellers who shipped their product as described above, but I don’t think I’m allowed to do that.

I’ve bought these sandals before from a different vendor on another platform, so I already knew I’d probably like them. The pair I previously purchased came from Jerusalem — they took a long time to arrive and were more expensive, though they did offer more color options. That said, I would’ve chosen black anyway. This pair met all my expectations. They broke in quickly, are very comfortable, and can easily be dressed up or down. There was a bit of color transfer onto my feet at first, but that stopped once they were broken in. Overall, I highly recommend these sandals!
