Orolay Women's Winter Down Jacket with Faux Fur Trim Hood

I was headed to NYC the week after Christmas and knew it was supposed to be one of the coldest stretches ever (15 degrees + windchill) so I ordered this coat to keep me warm since we were going to be doing a lot of walking outside. It was delivered exactly when promised so I had it in time for our trip. The coat fit great (I'm 5'5" and weigh 124 and size medium fit perfectly - with a shirt & sweater underneath). It was nice and long too (reached the top of my legs) so it kept me really warm. It was really comfortable and never felt or looked bulky or cumbersome. The zipper goes up nice and high so my neck was warm (although I did wear a scarf so that helped too)! The hood was great -- just wish there was a button or snap that connected the two sides of the hood under the neck to keep it more securely in place in the wind. I did have a ribbed hat on underneath because of the extreme cold and the hood stayed up fine even over that. The one problem I had with this coat (and it was a big one) was the zipper (but make sure you read this review until the end regarding this problem.) I had the most difficult time zipping it up and constantly needed help in getting it zipped. The two zipper pieces at the bottom of the coat that need to click into place in order to zip wouldn't easily click - maybe because it was a cheap plastic zipper or maybe because it was defective, I don't know. I felt like a 4-year old needing an adult's help to zip it up. It was really frustrating to be leaving our hotel or a restaurant and not be able to zip up my own coat. Even my husband and kids had trouble making it work. After 7 or 8 tries we'd eventually get it work, but I was really bummed that this coat that I absolutely LOVED would have to be returned because I couldn't zip it up without help! I liked the coat so much that I almost was willing to put up with the bad zipper, but I just couldn't justify keeping a brand new coat that was already "broken." When I returned home, I sadly went on Amazon and put in a return request and explained what the problem was with that awful zipper. However, since returns (and even shipping) are free, I decided to order another coat in the hopes that maybe I just got a lemon. Well, much to my delight, the replacement coat now had a metal zipper that worked totally fine! Absolutely no trouble whatsoever zipping it up or down so now the coat is perfect. So happy I re-odered it and so happy they replaced the zipper with a metal one (and did not increase the price). I highly recommend this coat, but just make sure the coat you order has that metal zipper! Hopefully this is now the case on all the coats, but just giving you a heads-up about my experience. Also, my second coat did have a little bit of an odd smell when I first received it, but it is definitely disappearing as time goes on.

(I can only speak on the fit as its not winter yet but will update if the coat was not warm after this winter season) This just arrived today and fits great. I find the small is mostly true to size. I am short at 4' 11 1/2" and about 110 lbs. The arms are a little tighter in proportion to the waist area but can still wear a sweater without being too tight. The small is perfect to layer underneath. For me it doesn't fit as slimming as I thought it would (since its looser in the waist than upper body and arms) but still is not bulky. It falls above my knees and the navy blue is pretty. An x-small would fit better in the body area like in the picture, but I don't know how tight the arms would be with layers on. This coat fits comfortable and I will wear it often to test it out when the temps fall below 40 degrees and very cold days. Updated review: Wore this out last winter and was a great coat to have. Perfect for temps in the 30s. Attractive coat for a cold night out. update Jan 2023- Still love this coat! Very warm and good quality. I was surprised how warm and cozy it actually is without paying the price of an expensive brand. So glad I took a chance on this because this is what I wear when the temperatures are 20s-30s.

The jacket itself of very cute and stylish. I took it on a trip to Europe in the winter and it kept me very warm. I didn’t have any issues with the zipper as others have mentioned. Upon arrival there were a few flaws in craftsmanship that I needed to fix as I didn’t have time to return and replace before my trip. The left inside pocket wasn’t stitched properly which left a 3 inch hole I needed to fix. The fur around the hood is attached by a small black button and elastic. One of the black buttons was missing, and another was broken in half which left the fur to flop some. Unfortunately there aren’t any extra buttons with this to take care of so I will need to source and repair myself. I do love the coat, but for the price point I would expect the craftsmanship to have been a bit better, and inspections prior to shipping to customers should be implemented.

I actually saw a similar coat or maybe the same coat on a news report where someone was walking and I saw the back of their coat. I tried to do a Google search, but nothing came up. I recently ordered a vest of the same brand, and that vest was so cute so it made me look at some of the other coats available. I found this one and while I didn’t need another black coat, this one had the back that I saw on that news report. So I decided to do one of those try before you buy purchases and I was somewhat skeptical. However, this is the cutest thing I’ve purchased in a while off of Amazon! I normally don’t post pictures of myself in things, but I just loved the shape of this coat and the quality so much that I needed to post it. someone mentioned the fur was not that great on it and I don’t see a problem with it. Its faux fur but the volume is perfect for the coat. I love It!. I love the material and it is actually warm. It is fitted in the waist and has great detail. This makes me want to look at more coats of this brand. I just purchased an athletic down crop jacket from a brand and this coat is even cuter. I may just have to shop for some more coats as winter season is fast approaching! Get this coat. Seriously this is the end of my day, and I haven’t even spruced myself up and it’s still cute!

Read a lot of reviews for winter jackets and settled on this one because of the free returns. Due to the issue of size I decided to order 2 jackets, a Lg and XL. I would say this runs in junior or petite sizing because I fit the XL perfectly...which is normal sizing for me anyway. I have an athletic build at 5’4”, 150 lbs with A cup. I returned the large (it fit but too tight in the shoulders) the next day via UPS store and I received my refund within 24 hours, great!!! Don’t be afraid to order 2 different sizes if you are concerned about the reviews saying it’s too big or too small. The jacket itself is excellent at keeping me warm in Seattle weather(30-45 degrees). Looks great, no issue with their materials EXCEPT the zipper. I think next time I will try and run some wax or lip balm at the bottom as it did give me some trouble, but get past that and everything else was terrific. It hit 2-3” above the knee. I never used the faux fur hood piece, which is detachable and solely for looks, the hood itself is not detachable unfortunately but fit well and didn’t block my view. Also, the jacket was not bulky, I even rolled it up and stuffed into one of those plastic bags you buy vegi’s with so that i could pack it in my carry-on. There were no bad odors due to the down/feathers. My only criticism is there are no pockets on the inside of the jacket. I treated the jacket well and I had no issues at all with holes, tears, or stitching. For the price, excellent jacket and did it’s job at keeping this Hawaii native warm. I love this jacket and would hesitate to let anyone borrow it ;-)

I was very impressed with this jacket. I am usually a medium in out wear; 5’6” 138 lbs. This jacket fit exactly right even with a sweater. Some reviews said it was too tight on top, which I didn’t find to be the case. I am 36DD and I had room when it was zipped. It wasn’t by any means loose on top, but not too tight either. The ribbed cuffed sleeves are a nice touch, and add to the quality. I also think the “fur” is fine looking. If you fluff it with hairdryer, it looks great, not cheap, keeping in mind, it’s not real fur, and it’s not a $600 jacket. I live in a warm climate, but travel to cold weather in the winter. I can’t wait to wear it on the first trip to the snow!

I normally wear a size small in clothing. I decided to get this coat in medium so I could wear thick sweaters with it. But it’s much too big. I am not exaggerating when I say this coat swallowed me. I could’ve worn three layers underneath. The biggest disappointment is that it’s not nearly as fitted around the waist as the description and pictures make it seem. The cinched waist was the reason I chose this coat! But in real life, it hangs on your body like a sack. It doesn’t even have a drawstring for you to make the waist tighter. There are no big flaws with the coat. It looks fine. The price was fine. It’s a good length and seems quite warm. If I absolutely needed a coat, I might’ve exchanged for a smaller size. But this company also doesn’t offer Amazon Prime shipping. I had to pay a separate charge for shipping. I’m returning this and the shipping charge is not included in my refund. Speaking of shipping, I’m very pleased with how fast this was delivered to me. The estimated ship date was anywhere between 2-4 weeks. Instead I got it in 4 days. Not bad at all. Especially during the holiday season.

Awesome jacket, huge hood, very flattering. Received lots of compliments. Pockets are big enough to accommodate even the largest passport-style wallets, keys, cellphone etc. Very warm and the hood is the best I’ve ever had that actually protects me from the wind. I decided to size down on a whim and I’m so glad I did, it fits me perfectly through the waist and hips, but has sufficient room throughout the bust to be surprisingly comfortable. Which is saying something considering that I carry most of my bulk in my chest area. I’ve recommended this brand to friends and family. Also worth stating, returns are incredibly easy with this company— I bought another style jacket from them last fall and I looked like a huge caterpillar and had to return it. No hassle, just initiated the return, took the item back to UPS and had my refund within an hour. Edit: I’ve worn this jacket consistently for a few weeks now and have one qualm with the hood. It KILLS your peripheral vision. So if you’re walking in a congested area on windy days, or have earbuds in please exercise caution— You definitely won’t see that car coming in the parking lot and urban areas. You have to turn your whole body to look both ways, which can be a little awkward.

I am VERY pleased with this. I don’t know why people have been saving it’s too thin & that sort of thing. It’s firm, sturdy and warm. Great colour and great fit.

Hi I don't understand why it had to be packaged like that. This coat can be flattened but why it has be folded twice to cause all the wrinkles on the fabric. I am hoping that fabric will revive but....I wouldn't wrap the coat that way ever. $155 is still not cheap for outfit and I expected little bit better care with wrapping. I will have to see how it goes but it fits well and warm so far.
