Will this cooler work with an Alienware M17 R4 which has dimensions of 400x395mm?

If the laptop is 17 inch should work. Most 17 inch laptops have almost the same dimmensions +/- 1 or 2 cm, which shouldn't be a problem a believe. The build of this cooler is nice, because you don't have edges on the side to restrict it the dimension of a laptop. The important thing is to have the ventilation from under the laptop in that square space, so that the cooler can push the air into the laptop and cool it.
