Very strong
Wow!! So strong, it is dangerous! Do not get any flesh caught between magnet and thick steel. Very difficult to separate from thick steel. Love it though. Will pick up smaller items 8 inches away. Looking forward to fishing with it.

Crazy powerful magnet
I'd never even heard of magnet fishing before I saw this, and my curiosity got the better of me. I have to tell you, if you haven't tried magnet fishing, you're missing out - it's a ton of fun. This magnet is heavy-duty, and isn't fooling around. It clamps to anything ferrous, and it hangs on. It's definitely something you have to get used to, because you can't just carry it like you would any other object. The first time out, we picked up all sorts of stuff, from glasses, to keys, to a wallet (just had cards in it, though). This thing picks up everything it gets near. Cleaning it after we were done was easy as well - we just hose it down with some fresh water and then blast it with an air compressor. You can take it apart if you need to, but it's kind of a pain with a metal allen wrench. I hope this was helpful - this is a bit more expensive than some of the other fishing magnets on the market, so you may want to have a look around before you commit, but I can tell you this one works really well.

Seriously impressive how strong it is!
This is a review of the "Brute Magnetics Boss | 360 Degrees Neodymium Reversible Fishing Magnet". I want to preface this review that I'm a total novice when it comes to magnet fishing. I bought this kind of on a whim, I'd recently watched a bunch of magnet fishing videos and thought "that seems like It'd be a lot of fun!" and then I came across this and figured I'd give it a go. I took my daughter and her friend (6) and her friend to the small retention pond behind my house. I figured I wasn't going to find much as it's just a pond and it is only a couple of feet deep at its deepest, but I wanted to try anyway. To my surprise, we found several rights right away! The kids thought it was so cool and while the magnet was too heavy/hard for them to toss, I kept them engaged by asking them to help me handle the rope and help me pull it back in. They had an absolute blast and now her friend asks every time she comes over if we can go magnet fishing again! Granted I've only used it 5-6 times so far, it seems to be holding up well. This is a very expensive magnet, but if you're into this sort of thing, I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Very strong magnet
I hesitated for a while before getting this magnet. The description was a little intimidating, and I was a little worried about how dangerous it could be. I watched a few videos of people using it, and got a little more comfortable with the idea. It is definitely not a toy for children. This thing will snap on to steel harder than any magnet I've used in the past. I can't imagine what it would do if you stuck two of them together. Definitely keep this away from large pieces of steel and other magnets. I waved this over a burn pile and it was almost comical how nails, screws, staples, and other rusted bits leaped out of the ashes and onto the magnet. Cleaning the magnet off wasn't too hard with a good set of leather gloves, although if I didn't pull the handfuls of metal away far enough before dropping them it would suck them right back in. Great magnet, just be careful.
