TORTILLA Press Cast Iron (Cast Iron, 7.3")

I bought this press after another one failed to flatten all the way (it had an eighth inch gap at the hinge instead of lying flat on the opposite plate), and it's worked great! The first one had me rotating the tortillas upwards of twelve times per tortilla just to get it to an even flatness needed. With this one, I only need to rotate the tortillas if I want them super thin.I've been using it about once a week! Great price for the use I've already gotten out of it.

great product. It worked well for me. Made everything so much easier/faster.Tip 1. - wrap both sides in plastic wrap to avoid stickingTip 2. do not press with extreme force - Its just for masa/dough/tortillas. Its not a metal press machine.

Easy to use, showed up as described. Made making tortillas a heck of a lot faster than rolling out with a pin or by hand!Update: I decided to put a couple of rubber washers on the handle bolt, now I'm not worried about getting metal shavings in my tortillas! I suggest either the seller start including a couple of small rubber washers or just buy a couple when purchasing this press. Just a suggestion. I also added a lock washer to the same bolt handle, it had been loosening after a few uses. Fixed now.

The tortilla press works great and I am very happy with my purchase. The only minor inconvenience was that the nut that holds the handle on had a burr on it so it did not go on the bolt included but that was easily fixed by replacing it at my local hardware store.

Skip aluminum and go right to the cast iron. You will not be disappointed. The technique is all you, though.

I was hesitant at first to buy this tortilla press because of the other reviews but I decided to give it a try. We've been using the tortilla press and haven't found any problem. The handle is sturdy enough and the tortilla press is still in a great condition after being used several times. We checked it a couple of times to see if there's any sign of chipping or rusting but we didn't find anything wrong. I am glad that I purchased this item and I definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to get a new tortilla press.
